drug testing

i have a question i live in new jersey idk if that matters but anyway. if a cop suspects you of being high if ur not driving a car can they force you to taek a drug test?

U know what? I didnt think so until it happened to me a few years back. The cop pulls me over and says he smells it and how he is an expert on drugs and so on and asks me to step out I ask him why and he said He had reason to believe I had been smoking. This idiot made me do a sobriety field test for pot!!!lol!! any way it was windy as shit that day like katrina so it was impossible to do it any way he told me I had to submit to a drug test or my license would be suspended. I got a letter in the mail like 2 weeks later charging me with that bullshit so to answer your question yes they can but This is very rare and I just ran into some dickheads
