Magnesium doesn't have a "ceiling" in plants. It is a basic building block. And they use what they use to grow. No more needed. Too much mag interferes with other elements uptake.I'd say no, genetics is more important, I grow loads of bag seed. And given the same conditions high temps and soil, I would say it is day and night difference between some and this just down to the ancestors. You'd probably do better finding the ceiling of Magnesium your plant can handle for more THC.
And it has nothing to do with trichomes. In fact it is needed less and less as the plant ripens.
