drop ceiling

any one have a drop ceiling and know if grow lights can hang from them

Remove a panel and check for proper supports if inadequate add bracing If it were me I would add some chain from the joists and thru a hole in the panel then attach your lights to that chain

Panels are cheap enough to replace

tru and sorry for my ignorace as a first time home owner, what you mean by joists, like main supports for the house about the drop ceiling take a chain and hang form that?

i see a stand says its 4 ft so would that only be for sprouting? couldn't I at least in the summer for now sprout them out side and get a light to bring them inside for flowering?, any of these fixtures / brands look good or familiar?

Yes there should be some main wood supports above the drop ceiling panels depending where in the world you reside, all the track work that makes up your drop ceiling should be attached to those somehow, you could remove a panel and attach chains to something solid or beef up the supports & just hang from the T bars between each panel as long as your light fixture isn't to Heavy

those light supports in your link would work well as long as the plants & pots you use will fit under them

I can't coment if you can veg outside right now as I don't know where your from and I still have snow on the ground here

It may be better to buy shelving and just hang your lights underneath a shelf.
