hey

still trying to figure which method to use. Say I got about 10 plants in my system if I use a dripper do I just let it drip 24/7 or should there be specific periods of dripping. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

I'm pretty new at this and I'm still doing a lot of research so until someone else chimes in, I believe you don't do it 24/7. From what I understand it really depends on the medium you are growing in. Some hold your water better than others.

For rockwool, I hear 3 or 4 times a day. Can anyone clear up how long each time lasts?

#1. your medium is the key to water efficiency. but in rockwall or starter plugs, when young very little 1-2 times a day for 5-10 minutes. grad increase tell your at about 5- 6 feedings at 15-30 min.

You need to get a timer. The roots need oxygen so there has to be a break in the watering. I grow in rockwool and only water the plants when they need it. When they are little this could be every other day while in a 1 inch cube. It really depends on how much water is evaporating and being used by the plant and how much water your medium is holding. On the other hand you could set it to water 5 or 6 times a day for 10 minutes and as long as you have decent drainage so the substrate only stays moist and not super wet the plants will be fine.
