Drip Irrigation system

So I've decided to assemble a drip-irrigation system b/c I will be out of town for a pair of weeks. I have some time to adjust the system once I assemble it, but I'm not sure if my current parts will all work together and I don't know if I would need a pressure regulator. I'll just use it for my entire grow b/c hey why the hell not? lol

I'm growing in soil so I'll run the pump for like 2 min every couple days and let the water drip down, if need be I'll adjust for more/less but for now let's focus on the parts. I'll need a timer for it obviously, and a bucket, no worries that's straight forward.

Adjustable Dripper
1/2 inch tubing 100 ft
Manifold adjustable 8 outputs
130 GPH pump

Am I missing anything?
Can these drippers be connected to the tubing directly and then put in place and let the magic happen?
Is this pump going to be too strong for a small drizzle on the plants and require something else?
If so I can just attach another hose parallel to the manifold returning water to the bucket that the pump will be in and that should alleviate the pressure in the system right?

+Rep for some help here. If I need another part to connect to the dripper besides this 1/4" tubing lemme know. i haven't seen anything that I'd need yet but decided to ask away rather than make a purchase. I've considered poking holes in the lining but I decided on drippers for finer control.

I think you are better served with the eight tube manifold "octa something or other" from rainbird. each one is adjustable and it really isn't a drip but more like a stream which should alleviate your pressure issue. They aren't cheap but i really really like them. they don't clog up and they are totally adjustable. When I have to leave my plants for more than two days I hook one of these babies up to my irrigation system and call it a flush. Works for my girls

Looks good...let me know how it turns out.
I just have a couple of plants to keep alive.
So, I built myself a simple gravity feed drip system. Simple design. Have to travel in a couple of weeks.
Have been testing it for a week. Seem to be working fine.

10 gal tote container
1/4 drip hose
2 outlet manifold
Orbit battery operated timer.
Misc elbow and connector 3/4

Half of the parts in that drip kit would work. The drippers themselves would not work with a small pump - you would need 1000gph or over to form enough pressure. Try to find the sprinkler type which are adjustable.

You will also want a main larger pipe from which that smaller tubing connects - no pump will be able to form decent pressure when immediately going into something with such a small diameter.

Drippers like this will better suit you - http://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/Adjustable-Spray-Jets-s/7838.htm

I'll upload a picture of a super simple manifold in a moment.

Mine has a T at the end but you really wouldn't need that - just a piece of at least a couple feet of 3/4" irrigation tubing or pvc or hose. You can buy plugs for the ends and then connect your smaller drip line to this. Greatly increases the pressure that can build and more evenly feeds the multiple drip heads.

I have no idea what psi you'll hit but it should be enough pressure to operate those adjustable heads - just unscrew them a whole lot.

That set-up looks good to me.

I ran pretty much the exact same rig when I had to go out of town. I expected the larger plants to survive but be in poor condition upon return and the smaller plants to be dead - was pleasantly surprised.

Day I left:

Day I came back (11 days later) -

The next day after a good hand watering:

Cool thanks man! Maybe a cool sticky/tutorial is recommended for the masses, this stuff is simple once you know what the hell you're doing. But I still have no clue on the PSI and such fingers crossed.

Also that grow is mighty impressive lol....Im running a much smaller scale thing. First time grow just growing 2 plants max for myself.
