Dream Light set up

Im going to eventually end up upgrading to a bed room. If price was not an object, what 1000w setup would you use? Ballest, Bulb and Canopy.

Thank you, theres so many choices, its kinda hard to science out.

Sg 1000w magnetic ballast- 100 dollers
1000w sun master bulb- 70 dollers
Cord set and light socket- 30 dollers

I like to run vertical bulbs personally more light coverage over all and less money
in hoods if you can handle the heat ide look into the vertical threads i run cfls vertical
for vegging and 600w hps vertical for flowering

Price is an option its all about profit

new hortilux 1000w ballast. hortilux 1000w super hps bulb. reflector depends on footprint you want. either the blockbuster or the xxxl.

thanks man, do you feel magnetic is better than Dig...(I dont really know the difference)

digital ballasts are better in my opinion. they are quieter, fire quicker, warm up quicker, control both HPS and MH bulbs, run cooler, are dimmable sometimes, and condition power better.

I feel magnetics ballast are just as good as digitals
Magnetics last longer
cheap to work on
some can run mh and hps

Only difference between magnetic and hps are magnetics humm a lil and digitals are quiet
But unless your not runing inline fans then i wouldnt worry about because inline fans
are Way louder than a bearly noticible humm

Gavita 1000's with the dual ended philips green power bulbs. I see four of them in my future.

I will be getting solidtek digi when I upgrade.

Don't forget magnetics put off more rf interference. So depending on how many and how close you are. You can forget about listening to the radio when your lights are on.

Solis-Tek Digitals Ballast. Ushio 1k Bulbs and the Luxor 8" hood.

The Solis-Tek ballasts are just bad ass. They fire sequentially when they detect that they're on the same circuit. They have built in timers that have preset programs for 20/4 - 18/6 and 12/12. They have an odometer so you know how many hours your bulbs have been used. THEY COME WITH A REMOTE!!

Ushio bulbs are beasts...most lumens on the market.

Luxor hoods look to be the best hoods currently out.

those puppies do look badass. supposedly they run super cool. you can't air cool them though, that's the drawback. guess if you're going that deep into the wallet you can afford to bump up the a/c a little. lol.

hey canna (or anyone), anybody got a link to a comparison mj grow using plasma's? haven't been able to find anything on youtube.

im close to running my dream setup right now, but i love light and new setups this i what im running right now and its working great.

3x5x5 area 2 cool tubes 430w HPS and 400W halide. 2 26w reptisun cfl down in close on clamps to be put on plants in the last week, and a 160w exoterra solar glo MV up top. been thinking about adding 2 t5 tubes for side lighting and more red down in close.

It's all about the light. They don't recommend air cooling these bulbs. They need to run at a certain temp. My sealed room runs better open hood than my old set up that was water cooled with frescas. The added heat runs my ac just enough to keep the RH in the mid 40s dehuey only at lights out.

Works for me.

that's dialed in right there. nice.

i like the fact you can change the aluminum insert on them. i read a couple studies that said they degrade over time. something like 10-% loss on the reflective surface per year. since all hoods use the same myro aluminum basically that means after a couple years you've lost 20-30% of your reflective output from the aluminum. thought that was interesting.

if price wasn't an object, ive been hearing good things from illusion led and penetrator led technology with youtube to buff them both. if it actually does work like they claim, you could be a very happy grower.

Can anyone tell me why ballest have the 240 setting. I would totally have to rewire my whole house to get a 240 recepital up to my grow room to be,..Just wondering what the advanges of 240 is? Can you hook up more bulbs to it?
