I have a small bedroom as the grow room - using the main part of the room as veggie side and the closet for budding. The closet is the kind that use to have sliding doors, which have long been removed. So to provide the needed dark wall, I use black out material which works perfectly. The only significant problem with this setup is that, in spite of a small fan, if the closet curtain is closed too long, there is a heat build up that can be damaging if it happens too often or too long. So it's been important that the curtain be opened and closed at the appropriate time. So my question is.....
Because of a work schedule issue, I need to drastically change the on and off time of the lights - and of course the veggie side is 18/6 and the closet / budding side is 12/12.
I'm thinking it's better to slowly adjust the on-off times over a week or so, rather than one drastic switch. I'm thinking I need to change the on-off time by maybe as much as 8 - 12 hours. The reason for the adjustment - I won't be home to open and close doors and curtains like I usually am, so I'm trying to find a timing system that minimizes the closed curtains, hence avoiding the over heating issue. One other possibility is putting in a larger fan in the smaller budding room.
so - what's the opinion out there? Slowly adjust the time? Quickly adjust in one day? or go to large fan and stick with the schedule that they are use to?
