Started germinating a new seed, it's a feminized Big Buddha Blue Cheese Automatic, a little bit about the strain from what I was able to pull from the website.
Blue Cheese was created, first, by selecting a blueberry male from the entire collection of several different breeder versions of blueberry. The selected male was then crossed with our proud mother, and the backbone of many of our breeding projects; the original UK cheese.
From these crosses a male with extremely fruity characteristics was chosen as the father of our Blue Cheese.
Strain type: Sativa / Indica Hybrid (25% Blueberry 75% Cheese)
Parents:Blueberry x Cheese (male) X original UK Cheese (female)
Growing Info: Flowering time 8-10 weeks
Outdoors: End of Oct. start of Nov.
Sensory Experience: Highly euphoric, Very functional,
Smell: A Sweet, Fruity, Tarty, Berry scent, with that recognised musky undertone of the original cheese
Taste: Potent, Blueberry, Fresh taste
I selected this strain based off a variety of experiences I had last year with different strains. Particularly because of how much I enjoyed the UK Cheese strain. I desired to grow a blueberry strain as well so luckily this will be my outlet.
I have already started germinating the seeds, placed them in a humidome near some natural light, just had it peek it's head above the General Hydroponics Rapid Rooter today with the shell casing, I'm sure I'll be seeing some cotelydons in the near future, so far so good it looks like the genetics are strong. I planted it pointy side up in order for it to allow for the u-turn that I researched previously.
Unlike my first grow this second one will be in a slightly larger closet 10' ceiling, climate controlled with it's own vent, I've made some slight modifications (a chain and another hook...) to the light hanging system. Will still have fans for air circulation, added temp control, and stem strength. Still have a carbon filter for deodorization. Luckily the light will be centered on one plant instead of distributed between two of which I believe in my first grow the 150w HPS was not enough for the two plants though my pics may admit otherwise. I will largely be using the same materials from the my first grow appropriately labeled Dontcoughts First Hydro Grow (for reference purposes). I will be focusing my efforts on a single plant at a time since two plants, given my setup, became a bit arduous.
I won't be updating this thread as frequently or in as much detail as the first one I've done, due to time constraints namely preoccupations. This thread will serve as a look into the characteristics of this specific strain given my method to serve for individuals who may desire to select this strain in the future.
I'm hoping that focusing my attention on a single plant will yield significant results for rollitup.org to drool over. Given that I have the previous experience behind me I will strive for a greener thumb with this specific strain, also noting the significant amount of research I performed prior to starting this one as well. Nothing but Ozarka distilled water on this particular strain, I will be using a grape General Hydroponics sweetener on this as well, which is a change from the fruity flavor I used previously, I'm curious as to how this will affect the taste in the end.
I'm excited.
