Don't use Walmart Visa cards to buy Seeds

After a pain in the butt 2 hours to activate our card and four different attempts to order at different sites, we finally noticed it said not for International use.
That wouldn't be that big of a issue except three of the f...heads employess said it would work

We messed up four orders and then switched to our own Visa debit card, then to make matters
worse, on my fifth attemp with my own Visa and frustrated to the Max., the address jumped lines and we ordered to the wrong address.

I have emailed Herbies to let them know, (no response yet)
but well see what happens.
So where, and how do you guys order seeds

You have to apply for the card with your name on it.

thats all i ever use is my walmart card

i simply use my visa debit card for all seed orders since in order to use those green dot cards overseas, you need to register the cards anyways, what's the sense in going through the hassle of using them for security reasons if they have to be registered to order anything..
the only plus i see about using them is if someone steals your cc number, on a prepaid card they can only get as much cash as is loaded on the card, so you don't have to worry about them cleaning out your whole bank account like you would with a real cc..

With the wal mart green dot cards you got to wait until you get a card in the mail with your name on it..dont take but a week or so

Sorry to hear. Just one more reason on the list of many I stay away from that store. Walmart is a fuckin dump. It's the new 99 cent store. I pay the extra and go to target if I have too. Same with McDonald's, fuck them too. But back on topic. I use my own cc and go through attitude.

i send cash myself. i was nervous at first but ive never gotten ripped off yet. only went through nirvana. it takes about a week for them to get the cash from when i mail it so it does add about a week onto how long it takes to get my seeds.

i just went through a fiasco with the walmart card.

i think it's pretty shitty that they don't print things like "only valid in the US" on the OUTSIDE of the fucking package. you literally have to purchase it to open it and see the details. i even went so far as to call the call center in india to ask about the details and the lady told me the card would work for overseas purchases with no problem even though it says otherwise on the plastic.
so then i told her that i thought it sucked that i have to give my ss# just to do some online shopping. so the lady offered to activate it without the ssn.

basically the whole thing was way sketchy and i got the impression that the lady desperately wanted me to keep the card rather than apply for a refund, and that she was willing to say and do anything to get me to keep it.

one of the reasons i've always used prepaids (up until the ssn requirement) was because i can "misspell" my name a little bit. for some reason it always made me feel warm and fuzzy inside if i made it look like a foreigner forged my name and used a card that could never be traced back to me. plus i could always say, "that's not even my name. that's not me." i always got the package without a problem and the risk of not getting my stuff is a small price to pay for supreme stealth. i make small orders anyway.

so i ended up getting a refund on the card (which they actually mailed promptly) and i haven't even ordered seeds since the bullshit ssn crap. mostly out of fear, but partly on principle. it's my personal info and they can't have it.

this is true first youll get your card at the store that you can use for anything in america but you have to get your actual card sent to your house and it usually takes at least a week its kind of a bitch but pretty pointless since either way its going to have your information on the card

just made the same mistake..what a pain in the ass and a fucking scam by visa

I use my card with no issue...it is easier for the cops to come to your hosue and sniff around for suspicion then it is for them to get your bank statements...so...no worries there...

I just bought seeds, at least I think I did?
The Walmart Visa Money Card I used is a temp one.
I registered it and checked the account.
There shows a deduction pending to the temporary visa account.
And the company I bought them from shows a receipt of the transaction.
AM I IN FOR A RUDE AWAKENING?
I hope not.

tried planet skunk..nirvana and the tude all denied...when called it says transaction declined..transactions not allowed from this country

not even a canadian one?
I mean you can use them online once there registered, and can be registered with any bogus info.. so maybe canada would work but i know the uk would never work...

Also they dont require ID when sending western union when you do it in person...
(ive done western union to the UK in upwards of ~$800 without ID.. so the cutoff is prob $1000)
And you could always just send cash.. Cause you need ID to get a money order...

They have ones you can buy out of the us just make sure on the back it say it can be used international

For those who don't like WalMart and wanna use a Greendot, i bought one like ~8yrs ago at CVS they prob still have them there... Fuck wally world...
