Don't know the strain, don't know if it's ready

came from bagseed. ~2 months flowering. plant form resembles indica with a little sativa. this photo is four days old. smells piney. lots of purple in leaves. nothing available to look at trics under magnification.

from what i understand, it's pretty much impossible to guess a strain, but connoisseurs might have input based on raw characteristics, color, etc. what is this?

i like a "higher" high rather than couchlock. ready now, needs a few more weeks?

Its ready now. You may be beyond that up high you're looking for at this point. Nice job, by the way. :)

Try taking them at 50 - 55 days next time and compare the high.

already in day 6 of final flush.

this must mean this is very indica then? from what i understand, sativas take longer.

IMO yeah, it's most likely indica. My Strawberry Cough that I'll be starting in a week or so is 80% Sativa and the breeder calls for 9 weeks flowering. But then again, that's the breeders' suggestion.

And holy shit, I just about jumped outta my chair when I saw pic 2! Looks like the eye of God staring at ya!! ..Maybe just a little stizzoned..

heh, the eye made me do a double take too - it's just a screw and washer used in a really half-ass LST in a very confined space.

must wait for final flush. very hard. waited a little too long, but couchlock bud is just as good.

there aren't many large colas, but there are many, many, many small ones.

and what's causing the purple on the leaves?

and here's more nugporn for everyone!

hey man. pretty nice plants. i dont know how many you have but from what i can tell, some pics look ready and other may need a couple more weeks. dont let it go too long or thc begins to break down and degrade. (less potent). also one more thing... how could you say "there is nothing to look at under magnification?" lol your fowers looked packed with trichomes dude! trics are the best way to tell when to harvest.

edit: btw, some strains are naturally purple. ive seen 100% purple haze. other than that the most common reason for leaves to turn purle is cooler temperatures.

the grow space is plagued with temperature fluctuations, even ventillation was provided by tapping into an unused chimney right next to the grow area (GREAT for getting rid of smell and air circulation). it has gotten above the 80s a few times, but during night it probably gets into the low 60s or even 50s.

someone else (not here) said the same thing about the trippy photo. they "eye" is tripping everyone out.

it is day 7 of the final flush - it needs another week of flushing; fan leaves are starting to yellow and fall, but it needs another week and several more gallons of flushing.

DING! all done at ~65 days.

several small colas which got a very purple tinge and emitted a very piney aroma. for one plant, i got much more than i anticipated.

This was grown from bagseed, from a sack of mediocre outdoor. it is immensely fragrant, thick with trichromes, with hints of purple.

Northern Lights, or some sort of NL variant? All i knew about the mother sack is that it was grown outdoor in the northeast US or possibly Quebec. The purple in the colas and the fact that it was ready before 60 days makes me think it's gotta be that.

Now the agonizing minimum two week wait for drying and curing.

I gave them a long, and for me agonizing, curing period. Even after two weeks it was harsh and "soapy" (can anyone tell me what this is? ferts? chlorophyll? Buehller?), so I gave it additional time. I had two bags of Cat Piss and Juicyfruit to wait it out, so all went well, although a few nugs got poached from time to time. I think total was under an ounce and a half. I also got a good amount of trimmings, leaves, and kief to add the the rainy day hash collection.

(initially both Ball jars were full)

My first medical grow was a success. I'm going to take some more nugporn of the dried product, which smells like a pine forest.

ironically it came from bland bag of commersh - that drab olive color, compressed so that there were no trics, and full of seeds.

and i did so many things wrong during this grow - but i also did many things right, and often they were done right accidentally. the biggest bummer was that i ran out of room during veg.

today, i opened the ball jars to aerate the still-curing buds, and it stunk up my entire bedroom.

is there any way to make an educated guess on the strain?

I keep bumping this, but I do so because of how surprised I am that I enjoy this smoke.

The "soapy" taste is nearly gone - I still can't figure out what that is. Opening a jar is like a skunk walked in the room.

I am satisfied.
