Don't have a Door for my little closet. Got some DIY questions

I have a small closet I will be using for an autoflower grow. The only problem i am having is that i don't have a door!:-( Need some good advice on what would be the best alternative to a door. Whatever I use to close off my closet is going to have to include some kind of intake/outtake fans. Anyone have experience with this kind of thing??? Any ideas would be really appreciated:bigjoint:

Put a cabinet in your closet. If it has doors...which it should...you're good to go. If/when someone asks, "It's just where I keep my nice shirts" or something.

A sheet of plywood and 2 by 4 and build a box..that's what i did and i got my cloths hanging in front..

If I were to use the cabinet or a door, would I just take measurements and cut out spaces in the wood for intake/outtake fans?

I think that would be the easiest solution, I dont know about cabinets, but doors are cheap and easy to cut up however ud like, its just going to look real crappy but im not sure if you care about that. (I wouldnt).

yeah I am going to just get a door for the closet, cut squares out for the fans and stick them in there. Hopefully they fit alright.

also depending on your light setup you could have heat problems using the same area to exhaust and intake air.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to do something in the summer. Leaving my a/c on all day is very expensive, so what are some other ways I could reduce heat besides fans?

My grow area is also in my closet. Since I didnt want to cut a hole in my door for intake, I went to Lowes and purchased onw of those big ass 4ft x 8ft styrofoam insulation boards. I measured it and used a razorblade to cut it to size. Fits perfectly as a door.

This way I was able to cut a hole into the board to allow me to connect my intake.

Nice! Very innovative, I will try something similar to what you did. Have you had any problems with it or have any tips for holding it in place? I'm thinking I'll use Velcro to fasten it to the doorway, how did you keep it in place?

I cut it to the perfect size so It fits in the door frame :D.

I purchased 2 little knobs to put on the door to take it off and on. Put knobs in lightly with screws which worked well until the wife wasnt too gentle with it. I just put them back on and added some ductape to them, no problems since.

I would say it depends on the frame your going to attach it to. Velcro would work im sure, but the knobs work best for me.

Take the messurements to yr local d.i.y store and get a piece of mdf this will allow you to fix your intake/outake fan to and will also reduce any noise.Staple some black and white polly to the inside of the room and the new door,put the polly around the door so any light will not leak out.Make sure that the intake and out take fan's are on the opersite side's of the room or if you have to put them on the same section have the outake low down and the intake high up,or you will find that you will be takeing in air that has been flushed out of the room.18mm mdf will be the best...............tyke............................
