i best way this site has helped me is by reading other people problems & the feedback others respond with. I am a newbie & 1st grow this month and the only way to get the help you need is research, more research & research more. I have had ALL my questions answered by just browing around and reading others problems, and that has helped me with my own issues. If you cant take the time to research, read, learn and spend the time it takes then you have no business growing. I mean, really, if you think you can be that lazy and not research anything, and think you will end up with a good crop you are kidding yourself. i dont see how you think you are going to get through a decent grow or crop by expecting everything to be done for you.

the one thing is the search bar on this site dont work for shit. so if you cant find it on google i dont blame people for asking again.
again you type in lst into the search bar and there are no results.

crap search engine, dont work for shit.

peace

Agreed, search tool doesn't work for shit! Most of the time if I find what i'm lookin' for on rollitup I find it while searching on Google (after not finding shit on here). Even if you can find something related it's likely not the same method, nutes or CGE for that matter. There's nothing wrong with answering the same ?'s for people. You learn and retain from repetition. Seldom do people do/see things 1 time and then just get it. Especially if you're growing!

I agree the sticky's and such help and should be browsed through first but it's a continuous forum anyway. What if someone finds what they're lookin' for but the thread is from 2008?...C'mon now...this site it supposed to be chill and helpful...I doubt anybody here just instantly knew it all (even tho many of you think so jk lol)

I have MSN so I use BING on a regular basis . I have answered almost all my questions by asking BING a question and let it search for me .
This way I get a wealth of info instead of 6 different people telling me how to do things 6 different ways .
This site is excellent but you have to pick and choose what you listen to .

problem is reading and research leads to finding contradictory information sometimes, and new growers are all ready confused and unsure of themselves. I think if they recieve a direct answer to their particular questions its taken more as gospel then one grower making a suggestion to another.

hahhaa, i have to agree there, people just need top browse around the site, no need to go to google, there is plenty of info on this site but people are just lazy. If people just look at the title of the threads it will answer 99% of the questions, and there is even a "most common questions" section too! people are retarded, and or lazy....

the title of the thread is about "questions that have been answered at least 100,000,000 times". if a question has been answered over and over and over and someone can't find it on google they might want to find a hobby that's more their pace...it's the serious questions that deserve attention, not ones that people could answer by themself if they took 2 seconds. some people want their hand held throughout the whole grow instead of jumping in and trying to actually learn, and i think that's what the op was referring to. some questions get their own thread EVERY day with the SAME QUESTION, and to keep starting new threads and wasting everyone's to keep asking these questions is very rude.

thank you honda5150 even though i prefer suzuki : )
lol, i just saw this. Honda for life buddy, 2010 honda CRF 450
You're both wrong! Ducati for life!!!! hahahaha
Ducati Street Fighter S 2010!!

One beautiful bike.

Now on topic, while there are many threads that are unnecessary, asking questions for the 1 millionth time, I would have to say that there are sooooooo many threads COMPLAINING about the stupid question threads aswell, I mean where is the line? These clutter up the forums almost as much.

Like you said there will always be lazy fuckers who wanna get a free ride, but thats normal, just don't reply. But I mean, seeing as this site is open to every man and his dog, you are gonna get all sorts in here. I still manage to enjoy the site, though.

Also, because we are growing something that is so variable, each and every one is going to have a varied answer, so when I research something it can be quite unnerving because I will get so many different answers, and not know which I should adhere to. I think that that is probably why people ask so many (to some) obvious questions.

I agree though, research is key, like with anything. But unfrotunately we can't control people and force them to research, we can control ourselves though and not reply to stupid questions!

Peace

I have a question ...and now im afraid to ask it in case its been asked befor .... Bullys ! :)

Admit it Or not ... I bet we ALL have asked stupid questions on forums in the past ... it was our first time learning a new thing ... we want the big boys to tell us ... then we get shouted down and learn abaout how search and google helps .. Some people are polite and point you in that direction ... Some people have been there a while and are sick of being asked the same question.... But for the new guy ..its the first time hes asked it ..Maybe all he needs is a warm welcome ..and a bit of help ... and add that he might find info if he checks the stickys ... try's search or hits google ... Not that difficult eh ?.... C'mon guys ... lets just show a bit of love ... Who knows ... That new guy / Girl might be the person who comes along ... learns ... and then comes up with some great ideas or can be realy productive in a forum like this .

Give the noobies a break ..show some love and support ... Point em in the right direction with a few links ....Or just pass em by ... Your Choice :)

Sometimes I may give someone a smart ass answer, but I still try to help.

I think they should have something when you sign up that you have to read the FAQ before you are allowed to post or veiw anything else. Just my 2 cents

the point is if you search for a thread that has already been done a bunch of times, the discussion has already been had. every side of the coin has been spoken on and discussed 40 different ways. what ends up happening is the people that are "helpful" get SO sick of answering the same questions over and over that they don't even look at the repeat threads any more and their helpful input goes missing anyway, and then the "thanks for nothing" riot starts. some people actually get annoyed when you link them to a thread where their discussion is ALREADY IN PROGRESS like it's a douchey thing to do. cluttering up sections with dozens of threads about the same thing is a waste of everyone's time.

Hi Total ... i agree with some of what you say here :) ... But i dont agree with the last part , I dont like asking qustions ( i have been online a long time and know how forums work and that people may get upset coz of the same thing la la la ) But i had trouble with RiU Search ...so what i would do is just read all the past posts on the noobie central ... So i was actauly learning from that...and i bet i was learning from threads on questions that had been asked a million times allready ... so maybe im an exception ... but i bet a lot of people that are WILLING to learn and have trouble with search end up doing the same as i did :) ... Hell i was only here 2 weeks and i was answering questions on subjects that i had only just learned or extapalated myself :) ... so not a total waste :)

I think it just comes down to this ... help if you can or want to ... if you cant or dont want ... don't :)

Im a Mentor for other things so i have had a lot of practice with dealing with people that are new to something or are confused about things ...so its easy for me .... But i understand not everyone can stick it for to long ... I'm pretty sure EVERYONE on this thread has been really healpful to someone and helped out when they could .... its just hard to know when its time for you to take some you time and do something else :).... I just think the OP needs to hit the " Advanced Growing section " for a few days ... or go out and enjoy the sun ...and come back and chip in if he feels up to it :)

Allways remember .... EVERY post on this forum was created by a human being .... a person with thoughts and ideas and feelings ... Extend a helping hand ... Give a bit of support and help ...... Or dont :)

Now ... about my question ! lol

You have see the question asked a 1000,000,000 because you have been here awhile. Others have not seen it, so just relax and if you dont want to answer dont answer. So what are you saying everyone here should just stop posting because everything has been discussed and archived?
