I have to agree with LV on his comment ( first time for everything) I make way more at my real job versus my 10'x 10' 2000W grow room.

Your therapist boyfriend sounds like a jack ass.... really trying to move 4ozs on CL...I mean really...And to say you could not get a head from growing from home just shows your lack true lack of knowledge, and skill set when it comes to growing. With a 600 watt hps, a 5x5 tent and a good clone source you could pull at least a pac every 8 weeks. I dont know what you get for pacs but I there is no way if you are producing top shelf that you are running in the red if you are moving meds... Hey though you're the big shot Pro grower right lol what do I know, I'm just a guy with a tent and some lights getting a head lol

For one he is not saying you can't make money. He is saying and correct me if I am wrong, that you would make more with a real job . Now with he economy the way it is I would only say this if you have an education, experience, or connections. But red bull, so you could pull a pound every two months and it is more like every 10 weeks at least because you need at least a week to veg ur clones and then at least a week to dry and trim. So every ten weeks that's only five pounds a year. Let's say you sell your zips for 250 OK. That means you are only pulling in 20,000 a year before you even thought about expenses. That is not a lot of money .
On another point to all you people saying folks deserve to be arrested. What the fuck? I am just as mad about the shitty overpriced outdoor that has been on CL but I would never wish anyone to be arrested for selling pot. If I don't like it then I don't have to buy it. The people taking a risk to supply patients with anything should not be rewarded with prison. So what if they are trying to get more money than what their shit pot is worth. It is better than nothing at all. No one ever deserves to go to jail for selling or possessing pot and if you think otherwise then maybe you should not be on this forum and I would like to say a very personal fuck you.

I remember my old dealer who served dank telling me that he did about 10k a month just being a middle man broker. Selling zips at 400 ( before the mmj law in AZ ) dude drove a Jag and was always dressed nice.
Yeah before amma I had a couple friends bringing 20+ lb a month. They were doing just fine. Paranoid as fuck all the time but they were doing just fine. And all the bud was much better and a bit cheaper than what's going around now. But then again they would not sell anything smaller than a qp.

Getting ahead and profit vs risk are obviously have very different interpretations to me and you. I never said you couldn't "get ahead" but it is not now, nor will it ever be worth the obvious inherant risk to grow in your "tent" for profit and think it will ever substitute for a real job. It won't.

A 10x10, 12x12 etc. room/tent can generate more than a typical job depending on plant count, equip and abilities obviously.
Its the risk that makes the profit difference and lifestyle questionable..

If you can pull 2 peezy's a month in a 10' x 10' room then yeah you can make at least a 70k salary but you still have to include grow costs and those add the fuck up!
lighting , fertilizers , water , co2 and equipment costs. So yeah if you can pull the 2 peezy's per month then yeah you could live middle class.
my math is
2 lb @ 3,200 x 1 month = 6,400
6400 x 12 = 76,800..
On the high side ball park figure and no deductions on grow costs.

I rarely think the avid grower is making 70K+ after taxes from a typical AZ job... There are exceptions for sure!!
The median AZ household income in 2011: $47,279.00 obviously tons of factors to get this number but 70k would not seem so bad to some.
Costs add up but every endeavor has to have an initial investment i.e. equip etc.
I was thinking more of a cycle were you pull 3-4lbs a month but @ 3k per for retail...
If you were to open a business outside of the MMJ world, start-up costs would potentially be on par with the ones above.
Licensing, Location/Rent, Advertising etc...

Beaver is completely correct. The man hours, mishaps and original grow costs tend to put A damper on things. I will say in an12x10 room with 4k watts, I can yield a consistent 4-6 lbs every 10 weeks. That is 20-30 lbs overall throughout the year. But the risk, and time kind of outway everything IMO. I haven't been on a vacation in forever because I can't leave my garden unattended. Last time I left for 4 days my yield was cut in half. Plus when mishaps happen in the grow room like power outages, bugs, heat, etc... All effect how your product will turn out. I am well off but with all he headaches that occur wih growing full time out weighs a day job anytime. I miss my day job :-/

If you are hiring a grower you are not expecting him to also TRIM. lol
Trimming and cleaning is a seperate job completely. The growers duties should be clearly defined at time of interview.

Head Growers dont trim and from what I have seen most trimmers work for medicine.
Trimming is a bitch, we all know, and is easily worth $20k in some form or another...
With that said, I would not grow for 45-50k if my trimmer is making 20k...
