Dollar Store Grow

Today I checked the roots and one was dried out. So maybe I've been underwatering them? Everyone keeps saying new growers overwater so I underdid it, lol. I gave them water with MG then plain water and they're looking a lot better already. I'd given them MG water yesterday so I was nervous but I'm watching them.

I also fimmed the plant in the soy milk container yesterday. Not sure if I did it right but time will tell I guess.

only bad thing i see is the peat pots!! sorry dont like them for two reasons #1 MOLD yes you will get mold with them there made to start plants and then put them in the ground out side #2 every plant i have started in them then put out side never got big at the end of the grow i would pull the plants and the roots would be in a big ball inside of the pots yes some roots grow out of the pots but not like they should for good growth

I'll try to put some new pics up tonight. Thanks for asking. :D They're looking good since I gave them extra water and fertilizer.

The peat pots have been interesting. They don't deteriorate as claimed (that I can tell). But roots do seem to be coming through so who knows. I'll investigate at harvest. I did trim the tops when transplanted, so each cup is kind of halved. They were VERY easy to trim, most of them I just broke off the extra. I could have simply torn the whole cup off but I was afraid to harm the plants. There was a bit of mold but I think I might have somehow kept it under control. What do you think about dixie cups? Thinking of using those in the future and just tearing them off before transplant.

Overall so far I like the convenience of the peat cups, but obviously gotta wait til harvest to really see the results of using them. Thanks for the info. :)

I started using Dixie cups wick Sicc was doing his Party Cup Grow. If you're interested in it you should look for his thread cause he did an awesome job. I've only completed one grow in the party cups, and everything that could have gone wrong with it did, but I still ended up with a decent turn out. I'm eager to see how your grow goes cause my grow is super low budget also. Best of luck! :)

The first pic is from a few days ago. I picked up warm lights and threw a couple in to see what would happen. (You can see which lights are which from the camera.)
Some of the plants aren't looking super good now but I don't think it's bad enough to worry. I might have added too much fertilizer.
One of the plants grew these little bud looking things. These mean it's male, right? Why would it have flowered when my lights are still 24/0? Kinda sad since this is one of my taller plants. :(

Forgot to add I'm doing LST with some, fimming with two, and I think I have one left alone. So we'll see which works best for this grow. So far the first one I fimmed is doing awesome. (The one in the square container)

Any thoughts on when to go 12/12? I might do it next week since I want to harvest by October. Are these big enough?

clf have more power sides ways of the plant
When I go to flowering I have a light with a metal reflecting hood (forget WTF they're called, lol). I'm also going to put all the surge protector lights in those Y plugs, then mount that from above (from the closet rod). Going to try to arrange it so they get light from all angles. Should do it now but one bad thing about closets, space is cramped and too many wires and lights is getting dangerous. :/

those reflecting hanger they are good......... but not good enough they blocket the ligths that plants need im grow in my closet im veg rigth now under 2 26 wattt dayligth 6,5000k

plants do 1/3 of their growth during flowering, so you should go 12/12 when your plants are at or over 12 in. tall. And the reflecting hoods are nice to have so you can take advantage of all the light that you have, especially when you only have a couple of cfl's.

another thing alot of strains are auto-flowering strains so they will begin to flower wether your in 12/12 or not. Also males tend to grow alot faster than females and try to hog the light. thats a definite male, id get rid of it.

Thanks! Could be auto, would make sense. My other idea is just bad genetics since these bag seeds could be anything esp. in this area. I just cut it down and jarred it (keeping these for cooking or something). No other plants have any signs yet. It would be nice if they were all female but I kind of hope not since I promised hubby this would end up as 3 plants at most, lol.
