Well I'd prefer cannabis growing to be treated as any other commodity, incuding taxing. Its a good step and I'm sure more states will ballot initiative next election.

The DOJ announcement has police angry. I like the tone of this article. Cops are pissed since it takes away their funding. Drugs are huge income for cops. Civil forfeiture. Federal drug-fighting grants. Bye-bye.

If they stop giving a fuck about CO and WA because STATE laws allow it, they will probably stop raiding dispensaries so much and giving a fuck about MEDICAL herbs.

It also helps decrease police militarization.

Well, you can worry, but there's just a little less to worry about now. Certainly not worse.

If the policy hasn't changed outside WA and CO nothing's gotten better either. Fingers crossed.

They basically lined the recreational legal states up with their policy that they already have for medical states. They already have said they will leave those abiding by state law in medical states alone.

Clearly the top cops who handle the money are pissed. They don't see this as an extension of any status quo.
