Yeah i just want to get a little more vigorous growth out of my plants. Been runnin with promix for 5-7 years before that used actual soil. Never liked it cause it always held too much water. Promix is nice because it hold about half as much as regular soil. But im trying to get to the level of coco to where its watering ever day or 2 max and hopefully faster bigger growth.

I havent changed it up in so long and have nothing left to dial in once i get this strain on lock.

ITs like i graduated high school when i switched to promix and just have been waiting to go to college for years and havent gotten around to it. Well im gonna be applyin to the coco college in a month or so.

Probably gonna go with Bcuzz since its pre washed and amended with calcium and magnesium. Kinda like the beginners kit for coco. Im all about savin money though so ill be usin the bricks the second i feel confident growing in coco and confident in washing it correctly.

I really want to upgrade to an auto watering system when we expand into a 4x8. With the halo watering things. It wont be hydro so it wont need a constant drip and i wouldnt need a huge rez. Wanted it to be gravity fed too just so i have as few moving parts to rely on as possible.

Still dreamin.......

Back to reality, ill have a video up soon.

i add lava rock and perlite to off set the organic matter in the compost. i water cuttings in flower every other day this run looks like i will end up being every day.

I started with soil and I over-watered them.
I found Sunshine more cost effective, and more tolerant of over watering, and better growth (prolly more air) than soil.
I used promix in some of my outdoor trashcan girls last yr, and notice lil difference as compared to the Sunshine.

I always add lots of extra perlite though, like 30%

I use promix which is "technically" soilless so it can be used as a hydro medium "technically" *finger quotes* hahaha

Ive been wanting to switch to coco cause a friend uses it and says he gets some faster and bigger growth out of it and if you have a nice mix of pith and fibers it holds a good amount of water. But no luck this go around. Couldnt afford to fuck up these mommas. Once i get the first round of clones though i might put 1 of each in coco and 1 of each in perlite and do a side by side test taking into account ease of feeding, nute issues, fixing those issues, amount of watering vs the added growth that is obtained.

What you guys run in?? I know most of you are hydro of some sort
i use compost in my mix, teas for my fert, and rain water and have not had a issue since i used the tap water up at my old house.

Sorry for the wait as you know holidays can be crazy.

Here are the 5 DOGs.

Hurtdogs2.jpg

I fucked up last week when i was making nutes and double dosed one gallon and didnt put anything in the other.
Of course with my luck that was the first one chosen so they got really burnt.

Topped them the other day though, except for the self topped one. haha

Perfect temps again. Basically no difference between temps above the panel and below.

So were about a month in give or take. Slowish growth due to the ODing and transplanting difficulties.

Hopin for no more slip ups in this upcoming year. Theres gonna be a few but hopefully no major ones.

Have a happy new year everyone! And keep growin!!!!

thanks guys. Yeah its adobe premiere elements so i can't get as technical as i want so the waves were a little off for my liking haha. But they fit that harp sound in the beginning and end so i thought it was cool. haha.

And ive stopped trying to talk over the loud ass fans so until something major happens its just gonna be some good music playin haha. Figured i got the journal for the notes so the videos can just be good weed and good music.

This video shows you a little more than the pictures did on the nute burn. The leaves were so damn crispy i could hardly water them without the really low ones cracking. But all is better now. Theyre still a little beat up but theyre not crispy anymore and have started more growth. First time ive over nuted something in a while. Ive been pretty light handed to the point i get N def alot in early flower but im trying to fix that with the Dyna Gro since it has a lot more N than most flower formulas do. Which is good because most people cut alot of their N in flower but your plant really needs it.

Gonna be testin out botanicare next round. Ive only used their supplements like CalMag+ and some other random ones so id be interested to see what the who formula has to offer.

They have a 3 part called KIND which sounds pretty cool. A nice blend of "synthetic" nutrients with some organic additions. Probably something like alfalfa or algae meal/tea. Ive only looked over it a few times.

They give away sample packs of your choice for only the cost of shipping. It supposedly takes 4-6 weeks to get there but shit its free and any company willing to send out its products to test usually has half way decent products. Botanicare, dyna gro, bpn, H&G. All good companies that have good nutes and are willing to send you some to test out to convince you.

So far ive ran the dyna and am really impressed. I did the auto cheese with just that and snow storm and noticed towards the end i was getting yellowing a tad early but figured it was the snow storm or just the genetics.

Im runnin the DOGs with dyna for now and once i do the first seed run and the clone run after ill be switchin to botanicare for a grow or 2 so i can compare dyna since ive only used it on an autoflower and this round with it on the DOGs isnt going so well but thats my own fault haha.

I started using botanicare 15+ years ago. I've tried others in between but always end up back with them.

Yeah ive always liked what theyve done just never converted. I bought a big pack of BPN a while back and i still have 1/4 gallon of each left in my big gallon jugs not to mention a bunch of the potent ass additives. They always seemed like a company that put out good products at a fair price. No 25 part formulas where you need every bottle or its incomplete. They have all the additives but you can get away with grow bloom and micro. Really want to try them out so i might have to order the nutes a little earlier.

Good morning!
Newbie on this forum. It's hard to get solid info on these LED's, so watching threads like this one is helpful. One thing hardly anybody talks about is noise. If you don't mind me asking, what do you think of the noise coming off the Grow Evolution units? I realize you might not have other LED lights to compare to.

I watched a couple of YouTube videos with California Light Works units, and it seemed like they were awfully loud. After those videos I was less enthusiastic about CLW.
