whats up.

so i have a Purple Power thats been flowering about 8 weeks now. i would think at this time it would be starting to swell and fill in.

wrong. it seems as though the calyxes arent filling in...they are getting longer and spaced out. not sure whats up with it.

any thoughts? its been fed with fox farms nutes.

a few weeks ago when the sun started getting lower in the sky, a tree has been blocking a lot of the light it once got. i dont know if that has anything to do with it. its in the ground so i cant move it.

it looks like foxtailing very faintly, try taking and popping one, my first thought is you might of been pollinated, your right when you say they dont look right.

Definite possibility.

Another possibility is high levels of ammonium in your soil during late flowering. High levels of ammonium causes stretchy buds, just as pictured. But I've only seen this kind of reaction in indoor plants. Strange.

...Or that could be its reaction to the low light conditions...
hmmm, i dunno about that one, seems odd to me. of course its always possible you are correct but ive never seen a plant do this from low lighting before like this one has, but then it could be just cuz ive never grown a strain that reacts like that too. original poster-can you give us some more pics of the plant? youve gotten my curiosity sparked and now i really want to learn/figure out more about this if possible.

that just looks like some hella sativa to me, i remember seeing a guy who won the cannabis cup not too long ago with a pure indica strain, and the "bud" looked to be about 6 fat calyx's on a stem covered in trichs.

Threw that out there.

I'm leaning toward the excess ammonium, though. Very odd for outdoors, though.

thanks for the replies everyone!

i got these seeds from the Attitude...i think breeder is Female Seeds? idk thats all it says on the package. just go to the site and search Purple Power.

for those who dont know. Purple Power is a purple sativa strain thats been hybridized to flower quickly so growers in the northern hemisphere can grow them without having to chop early. its basically a sativa that grows like an indica?? haha if that makes sense

i cant image its been pollenated because i only have 2 plants and they are both feminized so i never had to deal with removing males. i did suspect it to be a hermie in the beginning of flowering though.

i have suspected some sort of soil issue. i dug holes and filled in with my own soil mix but the holes werent that big so i imagine its roots have grown into the surrounding soil which might be fucking with it. i gave it a flush with regular water yesterday.

mistaphuck- thanks for those pix, it does appear to be similar to those. if that is the case do you think i can still expect the calyxes to swell up a bit more so it doesnt look SOO fluffy? i think it still has about 2-3 weeks left to mature.

i only have one other picture.

nope its just some 100% sativa traits coming to surface,View attachment 1159227View attachment 1159228View attachment 1159229<the last pic looks just like that 100 percent sativa winner from that high times cannabis cup movie.
Nice 1. Yeah, back to the basics: genetics.

I had had an Apollo 11 for a couple years that would foxtail like that sometimes. I always wondered about that- thought it was the nutrient regimen, because I was always experimenting.

You should see some nice gains over the next couple of weeks, in any case.

Save me a piece!
