does your yeild outweigh your cost???

hey, im new to indoor growing and i was just wondering, how much do you spend on the entire setup + electricty bill + miscellanious bills for growing indoors. i was just wondering if you save money growing your weed rather than buying it, and how long it would take for you to make up the difference. also, how long does it normally take for your plants to grow up until harvest time?

Man, if you had 4 plants that produced just 4 oz. a piece then that would be a pound of dank. If they were all hydro underneath a 600 watt HPS then that would be a pound of hydro. If you didn't sell that pound for atleast a G I would slap yo momma in the face and then when she bent over I would slap her in the ass.

No but seriously, a 600 watt HPS with switchable ballast: $200 - $300, Hommade drip hydro system with 4 - 5 gallon buckets: $50 - $100, that includes pump and tubing and a cheap rubbermaid res. gallon of reflective white paint $20 - $30. Some good hydro nutes - $30 to $75. PH testing kit: $25. ummm seed germinating tray for seeds and clones: $7 - $12. ventilation: squirral cage duct fan: $50 - $80.

total cost: roughly $500 depending on what you buy.

definately pays for itself many times over,especially if doing SOG or SCROG,in the right conditions

Haha sums it up about there. That's basically initial cost, too. As soon as you've got your setup, the only thing you've got to really re-buy are nutes and eventually lights.

agreed even if your yeild is crappy a oz of fire can range from 200 to 700 so if u got a pound of fire, it will pays for it self, pulse u know what it is and where i came from, that peace of mind is worth every penny

I can sell just about everything I grow for 300 dollars an ounce. I paid 250 or so for the light. Veg for a month. Then flower for 8 to 12 weeks. you'd have to really fuck up to lose money.

Right on Warlord, and this is why the Government has prohibited us from smoking, selling, growing dank. They are afraid off all that untaxed, hard earned money going right into our pockets and not theirs.

You can't include the room costs. Each grow lowers its share of the cost.
Its just initial capitol.

i don't think it would matter because after yur first grow yu wouldn't have to worry bout it cuz yu'll more than likely wanna do it again

and if yur payin said amount and yu make twice that then i think thats well worth it!

yup.. if u do multiple grows it will deff pay over and over... even if u do 1 it should and then u always have the gear to do it agn when ever u want... start out smaller/cheeper till u harvest then invest that $$$ in better stuff... get a 400 or a 250 to start with... that bulb could then become ur veg bulb when u get the 600 or 1000 later.. or u can always sell it when ur done and then upgrade.. and a pound should go for atleast 2000-3000 depending on the quailityand aera u live... if not more if u sell it in smaller quantities

if the cops look at ur bills then ur already busted.. they r jus gathering enuff evidence to get a warrent... a 1-2k op is fuk alls... the company is happy to give u as much as u need... jus make sure to pay for it on time... if u steal it, they'll catch u... no1 even looks at ur bills.. its all computer generated so unless u dont pay it theres no reason for any1 too look at ur bills

The hobby is very satisfying, and the lights help my SAD (seasonal effective disorder).

The quality is superior. The last bag I bought on the street will hopefully be my last; it was harvested in haste, and not cured properly. Most likely a hybrid, grown hydroponically, and hermied. Here's the smoke report: It didn't want to burn, so it most likely wasn't flushed properly. Tastes green like grass clippings with home grown undertones. Racy paranoid high followed by an intense crash. Cost $400 an oz. Better bud currently goes for around 320 a half (oz).

I figure with electric, replacement bulbs, soil, nutes, strains, and misc I'm paying less than half the going rate... and I don't have to risk buying in bulk.

The costs plus the tao of diy, and just the act of growing and reaping from your own efforts. Plus you get to choose the strain. Its unbeatable, and imo the costs are negligible.

Enjoy the journey of seeing ur beuatiful plants blooming everyday is a great way to start any day...... plus the rewards of the harvest and potential financial gains mmmmmm

If you focus on the plants and not the yeilds i have a feeling u willl do have better outcomes then if u focus on money...

indeed... its obvious you can make money on it even with no equipment...

you can get 2KW for $700
a hydro system from home depot $300 (with planters, res, pumps, medium)
nutrients for $100-150

that should produce 2 lbs pretty easily... which should be worth 11x what you paid for the equip.

there is a lot more stuff you could buy - but the ratio is still sick.
