my water comes straight out of the cold water tap and hasn't had or caused any probs i don't think water out of the tap is cold enough to cause probs i'm in the uk and it's cold here alot of the time and i would never try to warm it up with warm water because it's even harder than our cold water

Is this still the given wisdom? I've been using well water, around 60F. Should I be letting it get to room temp? Colder water holds more O2 right?
Just curious what others thought.

I don't think water temp matters much in soil. The biggest a reason in hydro for water temp is most people have a reservoir and above 70 deg you can stuff growing In the res.
