Does trimming off sugar leaves cut down on weight much

Just finished reading a Subcool post where he recommends trimming all sugar leaves, for flavor purposes. I'm curious as to whether this will make a noticeable difference in dry weight. Thanks.

My sugar leaves are usually covered with those nice crystals, literally covered, why would someone want to cut those beauties unless it's to present to others.

Save the sugar leaves for something else. They are mostly removed because they adversely affect the taste and harshness of the buds. No, weight is only nominally affected.

You can save The sugar leaves and do a bubble hash extraction or cold water extraction or if you have enough of them you can just grind them up and use them in edibles

The only negative effect is if you care about bag appeal. I actually like sugar leaves....so I guess it depends on the smoker.

Yeah, It's a GDP x Blue OG grow and the sugar leaves are dark purple. Can't decide between flavor (trim) and appearance (don't trim). This harvest is for the market.

For a buyer presentation is everything (up to the moment they smoke), a tight trim job is usually an indication that the grower gave two shits about the grow.

In my mind the proof is in the putting, I learned a long time ago to look beyond appearances (some of the roughest looking weed I've had straight from the bush has been some of the best, top notch, knock out of the ballpark stuff I ever had....but that's not how a casual smoker looks at it). They want the purple, the flash, something to tell them its good deal before they buy, so you should just trim them and give what they are expecting.

Trim the sugar leaves off of a few ounces of bud and set them aside. Then weigh them and compare the weight of the sugar leaves to weight of the bud. That should tell you your answer.

Personally, I've never done that, although I'll be damned if I know why not. I'm going to give it a try and see what I come up with.
