Does ruderalis grow in Canada? GTA area specifically?

I remember walking a ravine when I was younger and noticing these 2-3 foot tall plants that really looked like marijuana.

Their leaves were identical to cannabis imho but their stalks were all single stemmed... so I rubbed them off as a weed.

Any chance these "weeds" could be a local strain of cannabis ruderalis?

I will try to take some pictures soon if I can find them again.

I have been trying to locate some plants as well but I started late in the season so I am going to check it out this year, I live in southern ontario in around Port Colborne and Niagara Falls. I did find this document that has loads of informaiton about the ruderal plants. It also has pictures of what the plants look like and a map of where the plants are. If you ever find these plants be sure to post a picture up here since I am trying to find these as well!

The document with info on the plants: https://www.nrcresearchpress.com/doi/pdf/10.4141/P02-021
