Was reading alot of stuff about growing tonight and came a cross an assumption that plants under HPS lighting tend to have longer distances between nodes then under MH. looking into my plants pictures of previous grows which were under MH and my 8 haze's that are grown on HPS from the 1st day i started wondering if its just me looking from the wrong angle or theres realy a diference, because the ones grown on MH were wide and bushy and the ones grown on HPS are really tall compared to they're diameter(they have just 3 nodes yet but they already are like 35cm in height)??
Does light spectrum affect the distance between plant nodes?

I have allways seen that hps keeps the nodes tighter and you get a more dense canopy. also the strain has alot to do with node separation and flower formation
also i noticed that all of the branches are growing almost straight upwards, and not sideways as they suppose to, would seem that there's a lighting shortage but its a 400w HPS in a big white reflector with an organic glass cowering it and a pc vent inside so im keeping the lamp 40-50cm from the tops max... Just changed to 250w MH, will keep it that way for a week to see if there's any difference in growth. Also just checked on my last grows photos and compared the plants before and after changing from MH to HPS, dont want to jump to any conclusions but it seems the spectrum change really affected my plants in the manner described above, will add the photos soon for your eyes to evaluate.
The time difference between photos is only 5 days but the difference in height is more then double went from 30cm to 63cm and you can clearly see all the branches going almost straight upwards.

I think your right about the sprectrum causing tight node spacing of stretch.
I my lil grow box i use cfls mix em up for the full spectrum, keep em close an the nodes are so close its crazy. About one node per inch.
But as soon as they go outside they start to stretch an double in size in about a week?

ye, mine went from 30cm to 63cm in 5 days
