Does it make a big difference?

I plan on using CFLs for my first grow. I know cool white is for vegging, and soft white is for flowering. But I figured I'd just get the right amount of watts and try to get some of each.
So I'm only going to get 100 watts- only growing 1 or 2 plants, but I'll get cool white and soft white. Would this be okay? Or does it need to be completely cool white or soft white?
Or do I need to get 100 watts of soft white and 100 watts of cool white?

Thanks in advance

Daylight 6500k for veg. Warm/soft white 2700k for flowering. Cool white is usually under 5000k(4100k, specifically). It's probably the least useful CFL bulb temperature for plants. Full spectrum(5500-5800k) bulbs are acceptable for either growth period, but better for veg.

Mixing of the spectrums can be fine. There are people that use MH (blue light) for their entire grow. Your yield will improve if you use the correct spectrum for each light cycle. As Tea says 2700k for flowering and 6500k for vegging is what you should shoot for.

CFLs are really cheap so I would have both types if at all possible.

Are you saying you are getting 100w equiv of CFLs or a total of 100w of CFLs?

400w for 8ft plant
200w for 4ft
100w for 2ft
50w 1ft
26w 6"
13w 0-6"

Will grow very nice plants. You can share that light between several plants just the same.

Double it if you don't use reflectors(over 1 foot). :peace:
