Does bucket size matter

Yes, even in recirculating systems it seems. My 5 gallon buckets are absolutely packed with roots and I didn’t veg but like 2 weeks. Will be upgrading to 8 or 13 gallon with 3in pipes in the near future. Probably after this coming harvest.
The current rdwc I have running have 2" piping I have no experience with other sizes but seems to work great. I think I'll stick to 9 gallons it seems to be truth bigger is better. Res doesn't need to be changed as often and pH and temperature of the water seems to remain more stable

I just have 1" lines from my 27 gallon tuffboxes but I do have four exits lol

I’ve got 1in lines too, I gotta unclog them from time to time. Once I’m flowering its res changes every 5 days to a week, once the ph starts dropping and the ec starts rising it’s time for a change.

I use torus hydro perfectph and it always keeps my pH stable. It's a great product I highly recommend it for RDWC or DWC.

What pH does it stabilize things at?
The key is the get the pH to whatever your preference you want then drop perfectph and will keep it within .2 range of it. PH will start to swing when it's time to recharge perfectph which last 2-3 grows between recharging for me. I put my friends on it too. It's great for anyone using a hydro setup.

I'm very curious to know how it works.

I'm just deciding on wether to go 9 or 5 in dwc. Without vegging longer is it worth going 9 over 5 or is it a waste of time and nutes.
I'm running dwc for the first time just hitting flower and my roots are big thinking Im gonna have to trim if they keep growing
I'm wondering the same thing I'm in 5 maybe in 9 my roots could get bigger more roots more bud?

Ionic exchange polystyrene resin beads. They were popular years ago. They are pretty expensive and don't last forever. You shouldn't need to use resin beads to keep the solution pH stable for two weeks at a time IMO.

There's other pH stabilizers like potassium silicate but many formulas are pH stable enough just using the correct nutrient strength.

I balance mine with the occasional tiny splash of acid to lower pH or dilute to raise it. I find it's pretty easy to keep it within a tenth or so of where I want it.

If it isn't a problem, why "solve" it?

I think some people are talking about Organics and buckets and others are talking about Synthetics and buckets. That's two vastly different things.
A constant bottom fed 2 gallon bag of coco can grow a VERY large plant. So 9 gallons seems like something you'd use for a Banana tree with the same setup.

Same here, Tiny being the key word - ask me how I know, hahah!
Yeah, we've all made that mistake at least once lol

I make it easier on myself by titrating my acid solution down to pretty low molarity so I'm not messing with super tiny amounts, plus I run fairly large nutrient reservoirs, which helps keep things more stable.
