Does anyone use an Under Current system?

Finally moving to a legal state. Got a really cool place with a perfect spot to grow. Getting a 6 plant XXL13 Under Current system for bloom. Running 8x600w HPS in a 16x8 tent w/ mini split, dehumidifier, co2, etc.

I'm wondering what kind of yields these things typically get or what kind of yield do you think that this setup would theoretically yield.

You say "Under Current system" as if we should all understand what that means. I don't, and I'm sure there are others who don't. What is it?

Is that a brand name or some kind of a Hydroponic system or what?

Indeed. Current Culture is a company out in Fresno, CA that makes these along with a nutrient line called Cultured Solutions. What exactly is the Under Current? From their website:

The model number for the specific unit I have in mind is UC6XXL13. It's a six site Under Current system with 13 gallon growth modules for each plant and each plant being 40" apart, trunk to trunk.


I was originally thinking 8x600w as lighting, but I've changed my mind. Now I will have 12x600w in a 8'x16' tent. It sounds like a lot of light but really it is 56.25 watts/square foot. The lights will be hung vertically like so:

They work well if u just have a few buckets. I once had 4 epicenters running 32-8 gallon buckets each. It was horrible. The heat produced from the water chillers is an issue. And doing maintenance took forever. U need to swap out your water every week. It took me hours to drain and then refill. Then if u need to make ph adjustmentsit can take hours if your system is large. Nutrients are pretty expensive as that system had like 1000 gallons of water in it. That's why the ph adjustment took forever. Also, when you use an undercurrent system you pretty much have to only use synthetics. Organic will clog the return lines horribly and if u have to open them up to clean, you will puke from the smell. If your room is dialed in 100% perfect you can get insane yields. But just remember that when you run a water system, you have virtually no buffering so any flucation in ph or to hot a feed and you will have much more severe effect from that then you would in soil or coco. I suggest you add up your total water in the system and figure out how much you will use in nutrients and additives. You may be shocked. Also you better be able to babysit the system. It is not a set and forget type of thing. You will be having to make constant adjustments to keep it dialed in.

Thanks. That sounds like a lot of Under Current. I'm not too worried about it because I only have 1 epicenter running 6-13 gallon buckets. Also running their nute line so it should work perfectly. I've heard that the Current Culture nutes are really pretty good.
