For your next round, I suggest getting a small 4lb jack's 321 kit offa ebay (like $20 or less?) and do a side by side with Canna. I bet you switch.

Will a 4lb bag last an entire grow?

Red stems on fan leaves= not a big deal
Red stems holding nugs= Mag def or over watering

Looks like week 3-4 flower. At that point a lot of stretch and growth has occurred. If you do not supplement enough Calmag, or Mag period, you get the red stems. Photosynthesis slows as Mag gets used up quickly. When vegging, Calmag is most commonly used because the Magnesium ion binds to the calcium, in flower Mag binds with the sulfate. Hence Epsom salt. Easily for 1 plant. When I first tried it, I got the 6lb kit, it took about a year of feeding 3-4 plants daily to use up.

What about hydro?

Well, I run coco DTW so fed 2-3x daily in flower, at least once daily in veg. I probably use more nutes in a week than straight hydro would.
