Does anyone know how Dichlorvos work (NO PEST STRIPS)?? For Spider-Mites.

I ask because amongst all the threads, on all the various websites, that go on and on about how amazing these products are, for me, they just fail. Miserably.

So basically the question I am asking is, does anyone know HOW Dichlorvos kill spider mites? I know with some toxins, the mites can build up very fast immunities.

I am in a 120 square foot room, with zero ventilation, on 12/12 I have had one of these HOT SHOT No Pest Strips hanging for 8 SOLID days and it seems like the only thing it did was speed up the process of which these things multiply.

There is no ventilation, or any fans for that matter. In fact I even have towels under the door frame, it's almost air tight...

So I broke out my others, I now have 4 in a 12X10 room.. almost 4X what is recommended. (No I am not living in there)

In the past I have tried Numerous (9) pyretherin bombs, azatrol dipping (Submerged my entire plants) habanaero chili oil spray, isopropyl alcohol, high humidity, spraying the plants with cold water, and just about, no, actually EVERY single fucking thing the entire internet has said to try (minus predatory spider mites, which is next) To rid myself of these 2-spotted-spidermites.

So in conclusion, is the Dichlorvos toxin un-resistible to spider mites? In the way sulfuric acid is to humans?

How does it work?

I am about to cut everything down and declare myself strait edge.

Please help.

do not, i repeat do not cut and go straight...ok? :bigjoint: stay on the dark side :fire: Try this man. Go get neem oil, make sure it's the oil and grab each plant gently at the base and gently lift the leaves as you work your way up with the mister, misting all the bottoms of the foliage thoroughly, now work your way down the plant spreading it and spraying all surface. Now go buy HOTSHOT NO PEST STRIPS ( i just read you already have these, should work! ) really good product for pest maintenance (mites). Good luck and give it a ~shot~ okay man

~ BCbuddy :leaf: p.s. depending on your # or plants this could be alot of work, stick with it and treat each plant specially ;)

oh and clean your whole room and equip with bleach and let the room fumigate for at least 8 hours, try it.

i used neem oil for a while and it wasnt suffiecient enough plus a lot of work. I have had 2 hot shot no pest strips in my closet which is 3x4x8 for like 3 or 4 weeks now and the mites are gone just keeping it in there for a while longer to make sure. But i have my door completely open 12 hours of the day with two fans oscilating inside and the other 12 hours the door is closer and just has the two oscilation fans running and a small intake fan. They worked for me but i am ocerdoing it by alot for that small of a space so i would say get more man and place some on the floor and some hanging. I have one hanging and one on the floor so thats why i suggest this. Good luck Mites are a bitch

Ive used these strips even out side in my fruit garden. They work amazing. I just wanted to throw this out to help you guys. The active chem is DDVP which is amazing because as research has shown it doesnt effect fruit or from report of use with MJ that it doesnt effect smoke taste or smell even in last weeks of harvest. The one bad side they have shown is that breathing it in on a large skill has shown to be harmful to humans. If you do use the strips I personally like to close off all vents fans and everything for the first 8-10 hrs and just let the room cook in it. THis will get 99% of all the spider mites the first day. Then leave the strips and open widows and turn your fans on and the vapors will kill any singles to make sure they dont come back. Also wearing a dust mask would help a lot as i assume its breathing it in thats harmful.
