1gpw doesn't take into account veg time and is pretty much a useless benchmark.

Anyone with half a brain can get over 2gpw if you just veg forever into a scrog under a HID or around a vertical bulb in a scrog you might even be able to get 3gpw.

Now if it was per total KWH... You'd look like a shitty grower even at 3gpw.

Ok, so if i have two 400 watt Metal Halides, with a SCROG in an area that is about 2 foot by 5 foot, (the frame of the screen) How many plants would i put under it, and what would i be getting per watt then?
Been wanting to do a scrog, just never sure of the actual plus to it. Bigger yield, but longer vegg time.

Agreed. I had the following saved into a text document on my comp. It is apparently a more accurate way of comparing yields of different methods. Nobody uses this formula though, unfortunately. :sad:

OG's efficiency calculator

This is the way to accurately compare growers who use different methods, lights, strains etc:

RootEnergyTime = (RootLightEnergy × (RootLightOnTime/1000)) × RootTime
VegEnergyTime = (VegLightEnergy × (VegLightOnTime/1000)) × VegTime
FlowerEnergyTime = (FlowerLightEnergy × (FlowerLightOnTime/1000)) × FlowerTime
Energy Efficiency = DryYield ÷ (RootEnergyTime + VegEnergyTime + FlowerEnergyTime)

Space Efficiency = (DryYield ÷ ((RootGrowArea + VegGrowArea +
FlowerGrowArea) x (RootTime + VegTime + FlowerTime)))

Garden Efficiency = (Energy Efficiency + Space Efficiency) ÷ 2

remember:
1. Energy= total energy that the space consumes, in watts (lights+fans+...).
2. use grams for DryYield and square meters for Area.
3. the correct expression of yield is X g/w/m (... grams per watt per month).
It still doesn't take into account the fact that people have different definitions of what is considered "dry", but it is a lot closer of a comparison than simply using flowering time GPW.

Well with my 430watt hps

12/12 from start (8 weeks from seed to pipe.)

each plant will net 20g to 35g (in my room). For a bonus I can leave them in 16oz cups. I can grow 8 row x 8 columns = 64 plant at about 25g ea or 1600g almost 4x.

the down side is a lot of man water. this works even better with clones.

The lower the wattage your grow lights are the harder it is to yeild one gram per watt,this is why so many new growers & low wattage growers find it impossible to believe its an easily obtainable goal,the more wattage the easier it is,just going from my own yeilds i can see an accomplished indoor grower like Albfuct or Filthyfletch reaching 1.5 grams per watt fairly easily,not that their super human growers or anything but their gardens have been in operation for long periods,all the bugs are worked out,they know the strain very well & their rooms are on auto pilot.

Currently Im getting damm close to a gram a watt & im a lazy ass grower,my bud room is on auto pilot because it has to be,i only visit the grow op every 2 days & if something needs done with the plants before i visit again tough titties there on their own,i simply cant visit every day.

Im positive i could get a gram a watt if i cared enough to pay better attention to my garden but because of distance i cant give it any more attention,my wife has been promised a med mj card by her pain managment doctor once my state puts the finishing touches on our new law,once that happens the garden is comming home & i'll get a gram a watt or better easily,of that im sure.

Its not that hard guys,think it through & you'll see.

i only hit 0.375 grams per watt this time but it was my first run with a volksgarden and it was way under utilized and from what i can see after my first run i will be stunned if i dont blow past 1 gram per watt and get closer to 2 grams per watt

Im fascinated by the volksgarden & all other rotary grow systems,is there any way you would start a journal with updated pics showing us the process from start to finish,im dying to see one in action all the way through a grow,nobody ever posts shit about rotary gardens.
