Does anyone have separate bloom tents/lights for different bloom phases (e.g., 3 groups: GH phases 1-3, phases 4-6, ripening phases 7 & 8)?

Does anyone have separate bloom tents/lights for different bloom phases (e.g., 3 groups: GH phases 1-3, phases 4-6, and ripening phases 7 & 8 )?

If so, how's it working out? is it a perpetual bloom setup? I imagine you can dial-in each station's environment to optimal conditions ... I don't think the ideal settings are the same throughout bloom ... and it seems impossible to make those adjustments if all plants are together throughout bloom (especially in a perpetual bloom setup).

do you get super baked and come up with these outside the box ideas? just curious.

as a guess, a 12/12 tent a 11/13 tent and a 10/14 tent would be what i'd try.

i kinda remember reading that the "more red light in fall" is true but just barely. it's still generally 5000K from the sun

I use 5000k lights for veg and 3000-3500k for flower. If that's what you're talking about.

I'm solving things "component-wise." limited space, trying to make the most of every branch I allow to bloom. many ways to divide your bloom-dedicated tent(s) (e.g., indica/sativa-only, development, etc). If humidity should be lower toward the end of bloom than at the beginning, or bringing down the temperature during ripening is beneficial, why not divide/organize your plants to maximize quality, seize every opportunity to dial-in your environment? multiple strains, so bound to have strain conflicts in terms of environment. another factor....

Is it out-of-the-box or do you just need a bigger box? lol

if you look at grow areas in nature, do you think RH% really drops much (or changes much) during a natural bloom phase . june to october--ish??

I hear what you're saying. Just taking notes/lessons learned from my current grow and considering what I can do on my next grow. I have an idea of how many square feet and levels of warehouse shelves I want to use ... I'm now considering how I want to divide the space. Currently, I'm focusing on getting better at managing the ripening process/phase of bloom, so I'm putting emphasis on it in my future plans (i.e., considering having ripening plants in a perpetual bloom setup alone together so I can execute ripening more consistently). But practice will probably allow me to get there more cost-effectively than a standalone station for each thing I want to focus on.

no, i get ya. have you heard of using a really high K bulb for the last 2 weeks? like a 10000k finishing bulb?

you could go super specific though if you want:

let's say you grow a landrace sativa from a certain town in vietnam. you could mimic the bloom conditions based on looking at previous time periods. daylight time to the minute, RH% by a daily chart, etc.

See, I was under the impression I'd need less light intensity during ripening ... to avoid foxtailing and/or burning off the frost. I was thinking of positioning plants slightly further away from lights and possibly add supplemental lighting for spectrums that might influence terpene production. Might be worth the cost if I only added extra lights in one station. Idk, I'm not doing any of this immediately. Thanks.

I am in a low plant count area and plan on giving each plant its own tent for full cycle for similar reasons but haven't seen anyone do what your talking about. Could be an interesting concept though

Then I guess you wouldn't be the one to talk to about reducing light-to-plant distance and overall height needed for a veg station -- the lower shelf of a 2-level vert grow -- by mounting twice as many lights than necessary and having every other light paired with the same light schedule; 1/2 on, 1/2 off, to reduce "hot spots." Add a dimmer and fans, and I believe the height can be reduced dramatically so you can have a 2-level grow without a step-ladder. That's what I'm building toward. That's part of the plan. It's not all giggling shits. You'll see, you'll all see... Bahahaha. Seriously, who's holding regular Hulkamania seeds?

I run 3 tents. 2 small flower tents set about a month apart for flip times. And 1 veg tent that has a split section in it that I use for cloning or starting seeds. My goal is to harvest every month while having the whole setup in a small bedroom

Mono crop in smaller tents under some Scyence kush2.0s. mono cropping allows the environmental changes to affect the plants all the same and the kushs will give you complete spectrum and intensity control through out the phazes

Although 3 separate 8 x 6 x 8 warehouse racks of shelves would allow me to separate perpetual bloom groups into early, middle, late/ripening, it'll be a while.... In the meantime, I've organized 1 rack's 3 shelves into early, middle, late bloom/ripening plants. Ten 66" bar lights in there, running perpendicularly to 3 shelves (I'd use 12+ lights if 8 x 6, but currently ~ 6 x 6 there). The center shelf gets the most light and heat. So, win-win-win.*

- Early/late bloom plants would get slightly less light intensity on peripheral shelves; middle and middle-to-late bloom plants would get the most light on the center shelf; and they'd all finish on the shelf nearest the exit....

- Standardizing plant height/shape while phenotyping will make it easier to put plants wherever I want them, so I can maintain this organization scheme.

- Plants grouped together will likely be on the same feeding schedule so hand-feeding will be easier (though I've already made it cheaper and "easier" (relative to what I'd been doing)) without sacrificing quality.

*I didn't include plants in gaps between shelves, but they're there, untopped. And despite being closer to the center shelf, the top of plants in gaps are inches further below lights than plants on center shelf. Although I rotate them through, it's just so they're closer to the exit.

Getting organized, avoiding precipitates, and being a little more discreet.

I'll probably end up using a dozen+ boxes ... I promise it will be less ridiculous than it sounds. Hahaha
