I've ran the SolarSystem 550's and a Veg 275. Good products, though many will chime in about DIY or other brands. I was looking for something that had UL listing/etc so a pre-made commercial fixture was what I was aiming for. CLW had been in the game a few and seemed to be as reputable (or better) than the next and its made in America. Their 'controller' isn't the hottest but its functional and does the job.
I doubt you'll regret the purchase; They've went from individual diodes to COBs so they may move slower than the DIY/smaller shop crowds but they do evolve with the technology it seems.

I have not used the California Lightworks SolarXtreme 250 personally, but there are a plethora of grow lights on the market that I would recommend over that model.SolarXtreme® 250

At one time when I was looking for some more lighting, I looked into CLW's lights. With the SolarXtreme's, I'm not a big fan of the nameless driverless COBs(according to California Lightworks "Proprietary CLW COB chip on board") they use in the lights. Also, unlike with the SolarSystem series, CLW does Not list system efficacy numbers or PPF output of their SolarXtreme lights. They just provide a couple of PPFD readings from different heights. FWIW the SolarXtreme lights have a 3 year warranty(or only a 1 year warranty depending on where you read it, CLW's site says 3 year warranty and LED Grow Lights Depot says 1 year) and the Solarsystem lights have a 5 year warranty.
I think it was in the LED and Other Lighting category within the last couple months, there was a member who bought a SolarXtreme light and said it felt very cheaply made.
Have you already bought the light?
Are you in the USA?
What size space do you want to illuminate and do you intend to use the light for the full grow cycle?

No I haven't bought it. I am researching for my intro into rdwc. I am going to grow 2 at a time in a 3'w x 6'h x 6'l box I am going to build. Michigan resident

Well, if you go for the CLW SolarXtreme 250, that will flower 1/3 of that space, about 6 square feet.
There are a lot of great options out there for LED. If you want to stick with COBs, Timber Grow Lights makes a quality light, and they are also a site sponsor here. Two of these lights will be more than enough light for your space, one light over each 3'x3' area.

Otherwise, have you looked into boards and strips? If you decided to go the strip route, since there aren't many 3 foot strips out there, you could make something like 3 3'x2' fixtures with 2' strips. If you would like any specific recommendations, let me know.
Another viable option is ceramic metal halide. I don't know if you've ruled out HID, but 1 315 watt CMH over each 3'x3' area would also be a great choice. They will also add some heat into the space, which may be welcomed in winter and/or a cooler space.
