Does Anyone Grow Other Plants in Their Grow Rooms?

I am posting a lot because I am fairly new at this and want to pick the collective community experience/intellect for pearls of great advice. I am not trying to be annoying.

Ok my question; Will growing other plants in my growroom negatively effect my plants? I kind of view my growroom as doubling as a giant aerogarden. From experience in my outdoor garden, I know that squash can cross-pollinate and cause freak offspring if seeds are saved. Is there an analogous scenario with pot? Is there something close enough genetically that will pollinate my beautiful flowers? So far, this disaster/apocalyptic scenario has not played itself out.

I am currently growing cilantro, dill, spinach, hot peppers, and pinto beans with my veging babies. Thanks in advance.

i dont personally know about cross polination with other plants but id say dont do it as ur just asking for bugs mold and numerous other problems ... my grow tents are all seperate and i even brush off clothes or use selotape removers when going to one room to another just incase i do spread bugs or anything around i also use latex gloves when handeling flowering plants none of this is completely necessary but it will save me from something someday im sure :-)

If the plants are grown in the room the whole time it would not be a problem. Its bring stuff indoors from the outside that may cause problems. But for most people its the space issue. Run big lights is not cheap so most grow the more expensive crop.
Your marijuana is not going to cross pollinate and create some weird species. And what the hell does squash "cross-pollinate and cause freak offspring"? I worked in gardens and grew vegetables for almost 40 years and never heard of that.

I have a veggie, fruit, and many other plants.

The only time they see each other is in my clone/seed room. I dont mix them in with my grow rooms. They go outside.

I grow outdoor gardens that include many different types of squash. One year I decided to save some seeds. Because I was not the one controlling their pollination, the species crossed and the seeds created weird-looking and bad-tasting offspring. I understand this to be fairly common with squash. Now, if see a questionable squash plant coming up, I pull it up.

Thanks for the advice. I started all these plants indoors from seed.

Breed me some afghani-chili hybrids. Like a mango-afghaniX chili .... ummmmm hot mango salsa.....

Fucking genius. I love spicy food and pot. How could I not have thought of this? I am seriously thinking about trying to make a chicken wing pot infused sauce when my plant is ready.

when i was looking around for cannabis recipes, hot wing sauce came up everywhere

sounds so good

edit: oh on topic, yeah I grow catnip, tomatoes, serrano peppers, and oregano right next door in the cabinet

I was wondering the same thing,... my woman wants me to put herbs in the corner of my tiny grow room... enough residual light to grow veggies for sure! So if I take sterile soil and start them from seeds, it's not a problem!? is there some types of herbs that are better at keeping certain type of bug out of the room and some other herb that will attract bugs? THANKS

Keep in mind if you are growing vigourous veggies they will eat lots of CO2. I recommend instead growing herbs like rosemary, lavender, lemon balm, peppermint, yarrow and pyrethruym daisy in your growroom.

Every winter I bring these plants inside my tents for months with no ill effects. My dwarf clementine orange tree, Dwarf banana tree, I have two kiwi vines (male and female), I have a couple different chili and pepper plants that are a few years old that I bring in every year (there becoming more like trees now!) They usually all go into my flowering tent. I occasionally have to get rid of fungus gnats before I bring them in but I don't find them to be that big of a deal.
