Does anybody have any experience/ info on Fogponics?

I was recently reading an article on fogponics. I have never heard of this method before and was wondering if anybody had any experience/feedback on this. I am considering doing an experimental grow with fogponics but am not sure if it is going to be worth the time, money, and effort. Thanks for any input you may have.

Fogponics is pretty sweet for cloning, unfortunately it is difficult to use it as the sole source of nute
delivery for the plants when finishing through flower. I have seen some successful grows that mix
aero/fog to have both elements, as well as a fog/dwc type setup that worked well.

The foggers have a tendency to have discs freeze up due to becoming calcified which requires a cleaning
or replacement, this happens quite frequently in higher PPM systems. For cloning I run successfully with
just a RO water solution and it works great with out ever clogging, system details in my sig.

Disposition, thanks for taking time to reply to my thread. I think i'm gonna go for it with the dwc/fogger method. Do you have any further info as far as how often to fog and would you use a normal solution in the resevoir. Also is the whole idea of fogponics that the roots receive more oxygen or what exactally is the benefit over doing just a normal dwc.

The reason I was interested in fogponics is for the fine micron feed
delivery system. Another issue people had with the foggers is that
they warm the nutrient solution. I can get away with clones and
having 75 or so temps in my res, rising temps can start to cause issues
of bad growth in your root zone. To fight this many people put their
foggers on timers to give some cool time. What do you mean by normal
solution?

I don't think it's necessarily more oxygen to the roots, though it probably
falls into the same general idea as aero. Definitely do a grow journal as I'd
like to follow along. :)

Will do, I think im going to make a homemade aero/mist system, can you give me any other details as far as what equipment i need to get the fogger going and how basically it hooks up the the system. I seriously have no knowledge on this topic but thank you for your input. Does the fog run constantly or does it fog out in intervals?

The fogger works by making the water level stay between two points on the fogger
as it needs to be partially submerged to begin to create the mist. The fogger float
makes keeping the fogger at the appropriate level very easy. Some ran their foggers
on intervals, I ran my cloner on 24/7 as a slightly higher temp didn't seem to matter. If
you're mixing aero and fog, the time of the fog is going to be irrelevant if there are two
feeding methods, but if you're timing them both out, 4 min on and 1 min off seems to be
a popular timing for aero. I'm sure this timing would work well for fog as well, though the fog
seems to be slower at delivery so maybe slightly more time on and off for each cycle.

mixing fogponics with another method is the best (NFT is my favorite). just run the fog nonstop and run your other source on a timer. check out Nutramist foggers, they feature teflon coated transducers to limit clogging and down time. running a dryfogger (less than 10 microns when atomized) will feed the smaller root bundles but the tap root will require a thicker flow of nutes. if you are really worried about the clogging issue run a smaller res for the fogger with less than 1200 ppm. the fogger will also push air through the root system (plants like CO2, roots like Oxygen). check out the duecrews fogponic setups at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZG7ATg1WAvY (im in the process of building near the same system but for 90 plants, and all from home depot) fogponics might not be worth the money for you because you'll need a chiropractor after harvesting your huge plants :)
