Doctors In Alberta

anyone expecting to come to alberta to make a fortune ever since the price of oil plummeted is in for a surprise. There's been widespread layoffs, companies going bankrupt, and a lot of the companies that aren't directly involved in oil and gas but play a support role have scaled their employees salaries back or they are now working 3-4 day work weeks. The "Alberta Advantage" is a farce that solely relies on the energy sector. couple that with inflated housing costs, grocery costs and high electricity, water and natural gas bills and i'll tell you it's really hard to make ends meet most months. My wife and I are currently debating whether we should leave Alberta for a province that doesn't rely on the success of 1 commodity to fuel it's entire economy. How's things going in B.C?
it's good but please understand that BC means bring cash! i grew up in Alberta...when you get here, almost everything has PST added so there's 7% right away...gas prices go up and down during the day-no idea why except to gouge, in Vancouver housing prices are way out of whack but we do have a great view of the mo8untains. on a good day, you can go skiing in the morning and then hang at the beach in the afternoon. that is strange
