The first thing you want to do is get a plant growing. Marijuana works very well.
After that you're going to want to invest in some T5 lighting, while not optimal for any stage of plant growth they are cheap, only start just one manageable electrical fire, great for beginners, and shaped perfectly for your 2x10 super awkward closet lined with aluminum foil you put up before you knew anything about reflectivity, and never had the motivation to replace with mylar. This type of lighting is necessary for that seared effect we'll be going for.
The next step is easy enough for most of you. Simply let the plant grow at a rate that is inversely proportional to your motivation to raise the light. The resulting plant should be too tall, and fit snugly inside the ridges of your T5 reflector.
After a day or so of pretending not to notice or just not caring, your new growth should become a crispy brown and be brittle to the touch. Another tip: remember to water your plants, they die if you don't. You should now work on rolling the new growth between your fingers until it is just a stem with a nub on it
You should now allow the plant to grow naturally, (remember to raise the light) and the result should be three dominant cola's.
