Do you weave scrog during flip?

Confused on what im supposed to do when i flip. so im filling out the net right now should be close to flipping give or take it looks like shit cause of last minute decisions and some plants were grown in different conditions ( outside ).

When i flip am i still supposed to weave into the net until it stops stretching? or am i supposed to just let it go as is meaning i stop weaving? i have never grown these strains before but i am NOT expecting 2x stretch im expecting 1x stretch. from past experiences they usually stop stretching after 7 days though. they don't start to flower until 3 weeks after flip.

so i assume weave during those 7 days and then stop right?

Depends on the grower. Theres 3 ways I know of that people do it, well maybe 4.. some weave them, some tie them down, some wrap them, and some do a double layer scrog where the plants fill out the lower grade in veg then at flip they are let to grow up into the second layer and be supported by it.

The double layer seems to do the best but takes more time vegging jn the flower area.

I like the effect of wrapping the branches into the scrog but it makes harvest a bitch.

Weaving is the easiest

Using string to tie the branches back down to the screen gives me a bit better yield vs weaving because it keeps more of the nodes in the light.

But everyone finds what is best and easiest for the strain they work with, what I run really dont strech much at all in flower if at all, i hardly get more than 6 inches outta them. And I dont veg them at all under the screen, as soon as I move them from veg to flower room and put the in the screen I tie down once at 7 days and again around 12 days and that's it

hmm i think i understand now. seems like i continue to weave during flowering but eventually stop to allow the bud sites to grow above the net. this site a user on here recommended me says 2-3 weeks after flip. i was thinking i need to constantly weave it to the point it is flowering so basically the tops of the buds would actually be slightly higher then the nets like half an inch and that made no damn sense to me cause when i look at vid's/photo's the cola's are a good height about the nets.

i guess i basically need to try it out first and see how it works so it makes more sense since this is my first scrog.

if you have the room then no let them tops stretch. i find if you weave too much you loose allot of penetration. its hard to find the right amount of plant to spacing.
over crowding your scrog net is just as bad as under filling.. i now use my scrog net to structure my plants shape in veg and let branches stretch up how ever they feel like in flower. i like stretchy plants though

yea im trying not to over crowd um but also trying not to under veg um net wise. hard to tell since i never grew these strains. 3 are crossbred/hybrids blue widow which i grew X mango something which my dad grew but i have no idea how these seeds will grow/produce. same with my pineapple chunk first time growing it.

Yea im just gonna try what this website says and what i have grown in the past since i have no idea how much these will stretch. i usually hit 7 days and then they massively slow down so i figure i weave for those 7 days and after that just let um grow in height. if i fucked up it's okay learning experience. all the strains i grew seem to do the exact same though they stretch primarily during those 7 days and then slow down and just work on the flowers after. i usually don't see the bud sites filled with pistils until week 3 of flip. hopefully it turns out okay

I like tie downs as well. I think it stresses the plant less and also allows most light penetration. I would think it might get tough with defoliation and all that when the plants are kinda tied together. depending on how many you have tho. I have 5 in a 2x2 all in 3 gal its basically all the tent can fit!! hoping for at least 3 females in the bunch. good luck man! let us know how it turns out!

if you are going to clone and grow this strain again then experiment. that's how i discover how to treat my strain but i think that only works if you clone because seeds from the same strain can grow different

i see no problem living by a 7 day weaving rule though. everyone grows differently.
i do perpetual grows so im not super fussed if i no longer max my grow space as i pull over 2 months

yea i would try that out but i have no zip ties. i had a shit load before from computer parts that i never used but i think i threw them away when i moved rooms a few months ago. can't go out and buy some either cause no car. if i hit up a store soon then i might do that but more then likely i wont be hitting up any stores. i like to free hand everything as well like if it was just my original 1 fem plant i might have tested this out but most grows i seen online they don't tie um down. some do but it didn't seem necessary enough imo. imma try it out eventually though not my last scrog for sure. try it both ways and fuck around with it see which one grew better buds or was easier to maintain.

yea i want to clone this girl she grew very nice for my liking but i got to research how to clone. i don't got any plugs like most people use all i got is some compost + clonex + solo cups so i might try it with that and hopefully she takes root.

It just depends on the strain on how long you tie it down or whatever method you go with. Back years ago I would weave for 3-4 weeks almost, but I lost those strains and my current ones hardly stretch at all. What I run is good but I miss my old strains that were well suited for extreme growth in flower, finished in 8 from flip and very strong.

My current strains dont strech much, go 10+ weeks and are mids to mid+

I need new genetics but I just dont know what to do since my old stuff was all clones and proven winners but new seeds are a gamble

yea that is what im hoping wont happen to my girl. she has been growing bushy all this time and slow vertically but now that she has hit the net i spread her open so i think she will do okay. stretch wise is rough i have grown bushy plants that stretched more then i expected. i guess it's one of those things where you gotta learn from experience regardless how much advice you get since i dont know these strains.

compost will probably burn the clones

its easy to clone just take 3 more then you need and once they establish kill off the ones you dont want.
i like rockwool to clone in to or i use just a cup of water

coca is a good product to clone in if you grow in soil

clones dont want nutrients in the medium as it will burn off the new developing roots

yea i figured it be too strong. i aint got anything to grow um in otherwise. it's alright i'll fuck around with cloning in the future i plan to grow more of this strain anyways this seed was just a freebie so using it as a tester for now. i usually dont grow the same strains i buy X amount of seeds only then move onto a different strain. i dont want to get experience with cloning eventually though.

if it was an option for me id way rather buy new seeds with different strain for every grow. so many amazing strains to grow but so expensive to buy all

if you can get cheap shipping on seeds and a good supply you are lucky and get to experience the many different strains

It depends on how full your net is. Traditionally you flip at 70% full and continue to weave to fill that other 30% of the net while they stretch. But some fill the net and then flip in which case just leave them to stretch and maybe kink and tops that shoot up to much to try and keep everything even.

Sometimes you can't weave as the branches will snapp so you settle on tying it down to the scrog net
yea i had to cut my dads plants cause they were so tall but even then since it was unexpected since i told him im not gonna grow um in my tent but they got super tall had to scrog um to give my pineapple a good chance. already snapped a few of his plants stems but they seems to be doing alright one plant in particular has it the worse but the newer bud sites on it are growing okay.

i usually don't grow a lot at once i grow maybe 3 plants at once but now that i have a tent i try to grow less so 5 seeds last me a good while plus i rarely smoke buds anymore so i just have a surplus of it sitting around been meaning to make edibles out of it. it's pretty expensive though i spend about $100 on 5 seeds and get 2 freebies. 1 order lasts me about an entire year though give or take on the strains of course cost will vary last one i think was $100. too much shit i want to do with growing all at once like cloning, learning to produce quality seeds, etc..

I'm an advocate for weaving until you start to see the plant actually beginning to flower. You can the clean out the undergrowth so that all your bud sites are at the canopy, and are in turn getting MAXIMUM light coverage. With the underside of the screen cleaned up you can get great air flow through your canopy as well.

at what point would i lollipop? i just flipped just cause i said fuck it but i am unsure when people tend to lollipop there plants. i assume right after the stretch is a safe bet? i have a lot of under growth on my fem plant i didn't clean up. i half ass lollipopped her before but that was before i put the net on

I would do it either at the end of the transition when the flowers are starting to show up, basically when some people defoliate. Or do it grandually over the next 1-2 weeks while you are still tucking, and then leave it alone once transition is done, so it can flower without stress.
