Do you treat your hermies like males?

meaning....when you first notice them, do you remove them asap from the rest of your shit and destroy them?.

or do you let them ride till they are done?

i had some herms in my last harvest and i'm tryin to get this perpetual thing going but i'm wondering if letting those ride last harvest will affect the outcome of the new ones that are next in line.

I kill asap, I don't want to clone these or get seeds from them because they obviously tend to herm. Also they are going to make all your other weed seedy YUCK!!

If you are well into your grow say past week 5 then if the flowers are open then the pollen will have allready been released so i would let them grow out.The trouble with this is that the plant will cease makeing thc and put all it's effort into makeing more pollen.Another thing you could do is pull the plant with the flowers on you should have some bud there to salvage. This is where it is very important to take either clones or have a mother plant for this reason.Check you temps this has always been the cause of the change of sex with any hermis that i have had.Any stress that your plants recive can cause this to happen so treat them with tlc and do everything in your power to make sure that the grow room is keyed before starting your next grow.

well i know exactly why they hermied.

a while back i accidentally kicked the power strip and it flicked the switch on the side of the timer for the lights, so it ended up stayin on for over 24 hours after they were already used to 12/12.

so earlier i happened to squeeze one of the nugs, it seemed rather hard for how young it was, i'm pretty sure they are going to herm.

the other strains i have in there seem to be more resilient and not really showing signs of hermies.

just this grape punch is rather finicky.

should i just take everything that i think will herm out and destroy it?

dense buds dont mean its gonna hermie post some pics and point out why you think it is a hermie

well its not just density, its a certain type of hardness, like it feels like a seed.

i actually got in there with some tweezers and pulled out what i expected to be a seed.

the pics wouldnt make a difference right now, since you cant see what i can feel when i squish the bud.
they are on day 33 of 12/12

but its only 5 grape punch plants that are doing this.

the blue dream, chem dog and sour bubble arent acting like the grape punch.

when i squeeze those nugs, its dense, but not the same type of pricklyness when i squeeze the grape punch.

i think i will take the grap punches out tomorrow and replace them with some new ones.

in my experience different strains have different feels and even look differently. u cant really compare 1 strain to another and expect it to grow exactly the same. u should not cut down until u are sure. some people say they rode their hermies, others dont even bother. if its ur first hermie usually personal experience is the best feedback so if u have time and space u should try to ride it once and then u can determine if u want them or not. definitely separate them from ur pure females.

also the bumps in hermies and actually seedpods are quite different. u should be able to tell if its a seedpod.

if u have plenty of clones, kill off the hermies and start off new. the last thing u want is a bunch of pollinated females.

i've gotten herms one other time, but i wasnt doing a perpetual back then.

but i agreee personal experience is whats going to determine what i do with these.

i have plenty of clones so i think i'm just going to chop once the light turns on and start over with those 4 or 5 plants.
