Do you think indoor plants know its winter?

i LOVE discussing consciousness, what it means to be sentient, does "thinking" = consciousness; does consciousness mean something is of greater value; who is measuring all of this and by what parameters...etc...
 
I find winter crops are the best indoor grows, if cold is an issue just crank your lights and co2 higher. No RH spikes less bug trying to eat your plants
 
Just to note because im.getting replies saying to change temp or humidity.

I just want everyone to know that I figured when i said I have my grow environment the same. Meaning that my Temps and RH are as dialed in as physically possible following vpd charts and late in flower drops in RH using humidifiers and dehumidifiers.

On another note I grow mostly chem/ OG heavy strains. Finicky is an understatement.

Not that I know anything about anything, but ..... could it be some other variable? For example, in order to keep RH and temp dialed in, is there an increase/decrease in anything else? Air movement, soil composition, handling plants differently?

....and I literally know almost nothing about cultivation.

......BUT ....

I did wonder if my first (potted) plant would have been more productive if it wasn't being moved around all the time out of shade to sunny locations as the sun moved.... in and out of a greenhouse.... soil was different , etc.

This makes sense if you got to run a humidifier extra moisture would seep into the soil diluting feed. Turn down your exhaust to retain heat less air flow.

Things with roots are not ment to be moved. I would not be worried about short distance in the "same" environment.

I would say in order to keep rh perfect in summer it is like fighting a battle with the A/C because of the heat it gives off. but the dehumidifier and the heater seem to work in tandem.

There's deffinantly cold and hot breezes in the summer ( indirect) maybe this tricks plants in some way.

Unless you think maybe cold radiates off the walls in general no matter if it's same Temps or not. It's a fairly new house only a little over 10 years old so I can't say I ever feel the insulation lacking.

What about the water temp?

I know a guy that plants during certain moon cycles, says that is the way it should be done. I’ve noticed the same in the winter grows. Winter is slow veg in my area. NNY here

In my demetry experiences if I look close there’s these tiny “gnomes” that build reality, it looks like they stack one molecule at a time to create everything. At times I’ve focused on them going to work inside my body and head repairing things. If you’ve never experienced this will sound nutty, if you experienced you’ll understand.

Once on shrooms I entered my blood stream at a somewhat molecular level and traveled through my body,organs, veins etc. It was cool but I often wonder if it was authentic and true or something in my subconscious memories planted there by a movie or television.Being able to see others thoughts which is basically what a movie or tv show can be,has to have some sort of formative effect on our true thoughts, much more amplified i feel than reading or listening to the thoughts of another.
 
Plants respond to stimuli. If they respond to the gravitational pull of the moon, that's just another stimuli. If that response becomes stronger or weaker over many generations, that's survival, breeding, evolution.

Plants lack a brain and nerve system so I'm going with, no, plants don't think, they respond.
