Second that. Before you get into it sheetrock that bitch and you can breathe a little easier.
I third it. sheetrock it and make it look like it's part of the rest of the garage. stealth grow room with a carbon filter. there is also a way of framing the room that makes it more sound proof then a normal room. you frame with twice as many 2x4's with 2x6's for the top and bottom, then alternate the studs between the inside and outside of the wall. the idea behind it is when sound hits the inside sheetrock, it vibrates the studs inside the wall, then normally would pass on that vibration to the outside of the wall. this new method, the inside and outside sheetrock are both mounted on separate studs, nothing connected, so the majority of the vibrations don't get passed on to the other side of the wall. make sense? then you also can weave insulation between the studs to mask noise even more.

I had 8 OG kush plants in a closet in my room of a upstairs apt and no one new till I told them and opend up the closet... CARBON FILTER! IF the room is seald and you have negative pressure in the room then all you smell is fresh air. My room in that apartment was always the best smelling.. just fresh air. Just make sure that any way you mount the fan it is cusioned. If you keep everything else clean (supplies, garage closed, etc) as well as your mouth you will have no problems...

I would definitely use O3 MAINLY because he's growing in a non-living area O3 would be awesome in space like this, if he wants to grow here he need only be prepared to do some work sealing off, insulating, and some poly sheet in the grow area problem solved ;P. Just be sure of yourself and plan carefully be sure you have the budget for everything you need to start and everything you will need to add over time. I think that is my biggest unexpected challenge got at least a grand into my newbie grow and it's small lol.

Ozone generators are all good and well but as stated earlier it can kill the plants in high quantities and in low quantities it might not quite do the job.most people i know who grow have them in the room outside of there grow so unless your gonna sneak in your neighbors garage just stick to the carbon filter oyu will be surprised at the results and if your worried just buy one that was made so oyu dont have nay doubts. but it sounds to me its the sound.i would say stick to a small grow in an enclosed area and just keep the fan to a mininum and maybe with flourescents so you dont have to worry about heat so much and then upgrade as you become more into it and see what else you can do to make it better. if you are to worried than dont do it but i feel oyu can do it with an enclosed area some flourescents like a 4 bulb or 6 bulb t5. and a carbon filter with a small fan to not worry about noise. just a suggestion hope it helps...it can be done though man just do it right so you dont get paranoid on yourself
