Do You Prefer to Adjust Height or Light Level?

Jon prefers to run his ViparSpectra KS3000 light at 100% and adjust ppfd by adjusting the height of the plant. As such, with the seedling as you see it way down here, she will emerge into a ppfd level of 480 ppfd. A bit high by conventional wisdom but it’ll be fine. And an astounding ppfd number for the lowest part of the tent. This is with the light at 100%.

I leave my light alone and adjust height of younger plants

I like to use lights with more power then I need. I mount them at the top of the tent and adjust dimmer using my PAR meter. No need for lights or plants to move, just adjust the light levels. At least that 's what works for me.

I use both methods, it is easier to adjust my light in my 2x2 tent. With my 3x3 it's on a table and easier to adjust the plant height.
This was grown with the light at the top and adjusting the intensity.
