Sorry i was going point form, overall canadian way of life.
Basically Canada is a mosaic and United States is a melting pot.

I know it can be very frustrating at times...very...
But it is a very slippery slope asking for conformity from everyone.

I am not religious, "thank god"...... I believe that there is no place for religion in the workplace, I respect all and their beliefs, but you were hired to do a job and if your religious beliefs interfere with your ability to do your job, I will replace you, plain and simple. Is that discrimination? It's not the fact that you you need to believe in a fictitious deity, but if it affects your work, then why can't I let you go? Leave that shit for your own time, if your on my time I expect you to follow my workplace policies. If you don't like my policies find other work, don't hold me hostage in my own company. Am I missing something? Or am I just an asshole boss.

Itsme.

Ps. It's nice to finally see a thread where actually discussion/debate takes place, without the negativity and name calling.....

Australia is not a mosaic it is a melting pot.
I think your issue is with the basic philosophy of what Canada is....a mosaic.
Not defending the mosaic or the melting pot concepts...just pointing out the fact that that is our national philosophy.

Hey fuck you you fucking asshole!
Just kidding...
It's a delicate balance for sure...there has to be some state rules and regulations in place or there would be abuse by some business owners. Having said that, the business owner deserves some control over their own company.
Just look at the word intefere...ambiguous isn't it?

i agree with you 100% as far as work place goes. Only small disagreement we had was "your fired get out" but that was a some what hypethetical arguement considering you bought your employees a vaporizer and spend man hours supervising them, thumbs up my man.

We got onto the topic of accomidating employees other then mmj, witch in hand brought up religion and i took it a step further into everyday life. Il let my feelings be known, im a straight shooter...i dont feel people who have never contributed to this country can come here and get more then what someone who has been working 40+hrs a week for 50 years only for a refugee to get treated like royalty...considering in the GTA 2+ family homes are of the normal i dont feel we the tax payers need to support there living and health when in the end some are wide open about the topic and willingly tell you they just send the money back home. Come to canada and tell me my kid cant celebrate christmas in school or that i cant say merry christmas is crossing the line. I dont go to iran and tell them how to do things. I speak of a percentage and in no way the new comers community as a whole.

It's very cool that you are a straight shooter...debate is healthy! I don't like that the Catholics get money for separate schooling.

I went to catholic school and if I remember correctly my parents had a choice whether to use their taxes to pay for public or separate school boards.

Yes...still in place....but say you are Baptist or Jewish, you don't have that option. Why do Catholics get special consideration?

I'm from Toronto, close to Hamilton yet so different.
This massive blend of cultures that you see in Toronto has always seemed to be there....and you know, I always felt it works (in Toronto). It always seemed normal to me, maybe because I am an immigrant too.

Vancouver seems to not have the blend that Toronto has...

you racist isolationist fuckers hahaha j/k I'm all for anyone coming over and being Canadian maybe a bit slower. And it aint cheap to start off is it. But you shouldn't expect the world to bow down to you for your religion(some take things too far), if ya need to pray or what ever go do it come back to work. just like if you were disabled your employer should accommodate that(like access being a problem). but that's it, no need to do anything more.

No doubt there is some abuse...
Rastafari is a religion...that could spark some debate (pun intended)
