Do you let your kids in your grow room / outdoor grow?

My kids are getting older and have no clue I have a small indoor garden (legal). I got my oldest into outdoor gardens by letting him plant some tomato seeds so when he does ask about it one day, I can just brush it off and tell him I have some indoor tomatos. I would rather just say yeah I grow this and be open about it, I mean brewing beer is legal and Im sure we dont hide that from our kids, so why this?

If its not appropriate or legal to have your kids around your growroom then at what age does it become appropriate and or legal?

I'm sure your kids wouldn't intentionally screw you over, but children's innocence could easily allow them to leak info to the wrong delinquent, or offspring crotch gobblin of LEO. When they're grown and out of the house, you can share a dab or doob. Till then, treat them like the little potential rats with smart phones that they are. Not to mention, when you ground one for being bad, then he turns around and blackmails you.

I think it depends on age, the kid, and the community. Mine know I grow stuff in my office. But they never see in the tent and they see me go up and thee and grab basil and other cooking herbs.

Honestly, as much as anything my concern if teens would be loose lips, misjudging friends, and having my house broken in to.

Loose lips sink ships...

But in all honesty it varys child to child. I would wait until they are older, even if they are teens I would still lock the room so they can't show friends.

When I go to peoples houses that have kids and the kids ask my name I tell them Steve. That is not my name.
Kids talk.

And remember that kids become adults with their own set of beliefs and those might turn out to be different than yours.

Number one rule. Don't tell a soul.
yep yep! and by law you are not supposed to have the kids around the grow or have access to it in legal states

When they are adults, then tell em. My bf thought his son would never tell a soul. 1st chance he got, he told a cop we had a grow. You say, well, Im legal I have nothing to worry about. WEll they could get the wrong impression that you are cartel or something and bring in swat and then you have to spend thousands of dollars proving your legit and to get your equip back

My concern would be that kids are far more investigative than we give them credit for. They're very liable to stumble onto it themselves. Before you think, " No the'y won't" I can tell you as a young child I knew every single square inch of our property including this really neat cave like crawl space in the back of the basement we were never allowed to mess with :)

I taught my son to keep his mouth shut when he was 3 or 4. I was not going to hide every time I wanted a puff. Every family has secrets so it isn't hard to teach kids about loose lips. I let him come in the room and talk to me while i was watering, no biggie.

How would did you go about that?I'm the type of parent who don't really like lying to my kid . About just about anything .. even santa.
I think honesty would have a good reward in the long run
