Do you have to water more frequently the bigger the plant gets?

I know I should know this already, but I don't.

I was guilty of over-watering at first, but I was only watering every 3-4 days or so. Now that I'm about 6 weeks in, it seems to get completely dried out after just 2 days. Are you supposed to step it up as time goes on?

Yes, as the plant gets bigger the roots expand and drink more water, more quickly. Just rely on testing the moisture with your finger and you will be fine.

During the different changes of life the plant will drink differently. How I check is grab the pot and lift it up so you can feel how much water the soil is holding.

This works for me when I'm picking up a plastic party cup. But, when I'm holding up a 5 gallon pot, it's a bit too difficult for me to judge.

yea man it starts to dry out faster as the plant gets bigger it needs more water so the roots spred out allot more and drink up all that crap one time i had to water my plants everyday literly in 5 gal buckets. always keep an eye on that i almost killed one of my plants from underwater for that reason but you learn from your mistakes.
happy growing

Is that common, that you would need to water daily? I have these in 3 gallon pots, and it seems that is the direction that things are headed. Still about 6 weeks to go....
