Your question has flaws. I carry a weapon in my own home, and have a very protective pack of dogs. I'm a navy seal and my kids are black belts in jiu jitsu, and carry tazers that can take a rhino out. Plus I have armed guards and a moat around my house.



Sounds silly right? So does this what if situation with all sorts of stipulations.

And what about the scenario where you have no choice but to choose over the phone. Now quick, think....the kidnapper says "you have 30 seconds before I shoot them both" the robber scenario is out the window now...you have no other choice...that was suppose to be the main plot in this question, no twists, you don't get to have that luxury here.

Ah, knew it was one of those Asian countries.

It's not dumb, I'm genuinely curious to know what people (that actually have kids would do) no rushing people or saying kill me instead, you don't have that opportunity...I didn't even want to make a scenario lol, plus I think I finally found one that their is no way out of it. It has nothing to do with TV, you have no other choice here.

What I'm trying to say is this is a pretty implausible situation from the get go. You can't just say No rushing the gunman, when that is what most men would do. There is always a choice.

As I said, I recoil from the premise. And the video that was posted illustrates why. It's not just that the situation is impossible, but there is no way, none, to not have a poisoned outcome. Ergo: suicide attack. cn

Honestly if I allow myself to really go there in my mind as if I really had to do it.
Suicide comes to mind but then I would be abandoning one kid so that is out.

You said this earlier but refuse to answer what, why and who. Also, that question is impossible to answer (even tho a joke) because nobody knows if a heaven actually exist.

At least this question I'm asking isn't suppose to be impossible, people just refuse to answer it. It's fine tho, I can understand how parents wouldn't want that burden implanted into the back of their minds so they rather not get involved and twist the hypothetical question around and refused to answer it correctly so people make up reasons to avoid it, like making jokes or acting like it could never happen.


It was meant to be a basic question but people don't have imaginations for this topic it seems. Sorry guys if I tugged at your emotions, please close this pointless thread.

I contend that I did answer it correctly. Imo submitting to the premise is not correct. Please don't take it personally. I am rejecting the question but not the questioner. cn

And that's the reason why only answer if you do have children as the people who don't have anything to really think about (personalities, smarts and stuff)

I'll repeat myself:
I recoil at the premise.
I would rather die than be forced to choose.
The video illustrates why: it's a scenario engineered to have no good outcome. My invocation of Kobayashi Maru was not random.
Again ... please don't take it personally. But I just won't choose between my two kids, and will squirm with utmost vigor in the trap. cn
 
Ok, thank you for your answer. I'm not talking about scenarios anymore, just wanted to know who would you choose, but you didn't really have to reply to the thread to be honest since you refused to answer it, the original question.


Not really taking it personally, just more frustrated for having 4 pages of this just to get the original question answer lol.
