Do you go solo or do you have a coconspirator?

the only reason i ask is because i'm losing trust in everyone i know...

my "friend" and i have been working together on this years outdoor crop and all was good until about a week ago. we lost two of "my" plants to rippers. (i say my plants because i am the one financially invested in this grow) ...so we harvested the rest of what we had, left them to hang for a week and have been trimming for three days now.

earlier today i jarred up two jars, one for each of us, and i tried to make them as even as possible without use of a scale. one jar had a white top (dudes) one had a gold top (mine). after a couple hours of trimming i had pulled some select nugs that i wanted to keep and pulled some random fluff to fill the jar. i went nug for nug judging weight so each jar was approximately the same including the selected nugs i worked hard at manicuring. so we got these two jars and i hand him his and set mine down at my station, then go back to the hang room to grab a few more branches to trim. we trim away and finish up for the night, clean up and get ready to head out... but the jars were switched. i didn't say anything about it because weight wise i wasn't losing, just not the nugs i hand picked.

he already asked me if i was the one who ripped the plants and i was like "are you dumb? they were the least ready of everything we had... why would i rob myself of what could have been 4 times as much???" so i really think he doesn't trust me... i don't drink, i have like 3 friends, i don't go out socially much, and am really saddened by the loss we had. he drinks a ton, gets belligerently drunk, starts fights when he is, and has a big mouth (all traits that were overlooked at the beginning). i feel that he had something indirectly to do with the plants getting ripped by going out and running his mouth at one of the local bars... but no proof...

my real issue is that this year i have invested close to $800.00 (usd) for seeds, lights to start them, soil, nutes, tools, everything... he only provided a location (witch is a pretty big deal) but now it's like he has taken over and will only let me come over when it's good for him (understandable) but we're on a schedule here, he's not the one that did all the research, invested money, took the risk of ordering seeds, nothin...

how should i split this harvest? 50/50, 60/40??? right now i'd bet that he has already gotten to go threw what has already been trimmed and started his own private stash because he has access to it 24/7... like i said, i'm starting to trust people less and less..

fuc man, i'm never bringing anybody into my circle of trust again on this subject... from now on i'm runnin solo. lesson learned.:finger::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall:

Whatever you agreed to before you started the grow is what you should stick to. An agreement is an agreement. Asking for more just makes you look greedy and untrustworthy. Take the hit and move on. Oh and unfriend your grow buddy. His drunken mouth is going to cause more issues in the future. Why court disaster?

agreed. and from the beginning i only said we would split the harvest, no set details as to the ratio, but i think 50/50 is right, but like i said, he has access to it 24/7 and i don't trust him anymore... i'm not trying to be greedy... it just seems that i have to be to avoid feeling like a "friend" (and i use that term lightly) is ripping me off...

I may have stated that incorrectly. I wasn't implying that you were greedy. I'm just saying that you need to be the honorable one here. Don't give him leverage to turn this around on you. Personally? I think he has to be the dumbest motherfucker I've ever heard about. You bought the seeds and materials to make the grow happen and all he did was show you a place to grow and store the curing plants. Then he has the unmitigated gall to complain and accuse you? Wow. What a dumbfuck. Kick him to the curb. Maybe then he'll realize just how bad he fucked up.

There's always next year and now that your "stealth" grow spot has been compromised you're going to need another spot. He is no longer useful to you. If he ever was.

I would be willing to bet the farm that he is in fact starting his own stash of the both of you's guys's stuff. With this in mind, make sure that the next time you go over to trim or whatever just load up you jar(s) with more than his, whether or not it's directly in his face, leave, and say fuck this relationship. His asking if you ripped them could also just be some cover for the fact that he is the one who did the ripping. Much like when a cheater accuses their partner of cheating or other misdeed to cover for their own shit. There is a small chance non of this is really happening, but from what you described it doesn't sound good, and he doesn't sound legit. So it's probably best to end shit before it gets worse.

I grow and sell what i can alone. I learned a long time ago that the only way to keep yourself safe is to tell no one. Not your best friend, your girlfriend or your neighbor's son.

If someone causes you trouble or you think they could cause trouble cut them out immediately. Don't get suckered into whatever drama they may want to cause just cut them off suddenly and completely.

There are few people we can really trust in this world. Only trust the ones that would literally give a nut to safe your skin. If you don't think they would do that(no matter what) they don't need to know about your operation.

Do what you think is fair and the MINUTE your instincts tell yuo there's lack of trust disolve the "growing relationship" and i'd try to start doing your own thing. Lets be honest with ourselves, its not easy to get our gardens the way we want em alone without the added stress of wondering if someone's gonna be grimy. Maybe its best that you try to go solo gardening. I would never say fuck everyone dont trust anyone, because its not the case in my situation. It sucks that after all this your left wondering about your fellow farmer, like the earlier poster says money and things that attract money bring out the worst in some people! Hope all ends well for you sir, and good luck in future gardens!

^ do it while hes drunk and he wont remember a thing. tell him he got into a fight
Once i accidentally kicked a friend of mine in the face *hard* we were screwing around, drinking of course. My foot slipped off of the deck and caught him square right in the middle of the face from chin to forehead. I never told him what happened other than he fell. lol.

That was a long time ago. Good times. I hope that guy is still around somewhere.

In my lifetime I've lost two separate friendships that I thought were going to be lifetime brotherhood level friendships because of legit business. I would NEVER make the mistake of partnering with someone for an illegitimate enterprise. The ONLY person who knows about my plants is my brother in law, and he only knows because he walked out on my deck while I was tending them. At the moment I'm glad he knows because yesterday he dashed across the street onto my deck and covered the girls when he saw a roofer with a ladder.

whelp... i couldn't sleep at all... this shit is wracking my brain. my head hurts and everything is still too fresh to partake... i am bringing a scale with me today and trimmed or not, shits getting split. relationship and harvest. fuck the dumb shit, it's not worth the headache. thanks too all of you for responding in such positive manners, as it makes me realize that some people (irl) aren't worth the hassle, while some people (unknown and anonymous here on the interwebs) can be better people than hoped for.

THANKS FOR YOUR WORDS!!!

okay, i'm about ready to do what you all think i'm gonna do; and freak out, man...

i spent the greater part of the day hovering above my cell phone waiting for a response from dick head, to no avail. i sent him a text at 11:30 this morning saying that we needed to get together to get this shit straightened out and done. i literally just got a response ten minutes ago (almost 12 hours later). he said he was at a football game and that i won't be able to get over there till monday... WTF!!!!! we already have most of the harvest trimmed and jarred, sitting in his basement. now i'm really pissed and i'm worried because there will be nobody to burp the jars...

how bad is this? how likely will it be that mold will develop? i really don't want to lose any more due to his actions... WHAT THE HELL CAN I DO?
