Do you follow breeders recommendations re dark time

This is the 2nd time I'm growing the same strain Afghan Ryder Kush. First grow lights were 24/7 from seed to harvest. Harvested a tad over 4 oz from three plants. Breeder says use 20/on 4 off for entire grow. I decided to give the breeders recommendation a shot this time. It's been two weeds since sprouting and so far they're growing like weeds. Is there any real benefit and what would it be. Thank you for your input but please no dissertations from those with PhDs in botany science.

Try a normal 18/6 for four week and 12/12 for 9 weeks. Just because its an autoflower does not mean that you should give it a photoperiod that does not exist naturally outside for real. I mean where in the world is the sun out for 20hrs, plants are very sensitive to photoperiod, I once cloned a veg plant that had been on a 12/12 photoperiod for one day and the clones sprouted flowers!!!

Yeah i am on my 2. auto grow. First one i went 20/4 and now im on 18/6. Really its just what i believe is best for my girls. After the 18Hours of 600w it seems like they really need a break, the leaf´s start falling down as if they are tired. Then after the 6Hours of darkness its back in shape and ready for a new day! Added bonus is i can have my mothers growing along the autos for the next batch.
Too me 24/0 is overkill both on plants and electric bill..

If the breeder has beed breeding the strain for several generations at 20/4 you should stay with that because MJ strains or any plant really adapts to its environment. For optimal results use the light schedule the breeder was using. This is a very usful piece of info.
