But what goal are you trying to accomplish?
I guess the question then becomes why should your enemy suffer?
Why make someone suffer if you don't have to, even if you hate them? Does causing suffering administer justice? If so, why do we have the 8th amendment?

The suffering is a reminder that being my enemy is painful and Its easier to leave me alone.

Why else would the DoD spend hndreds of millions yearly (axpayer $$$) to promote the so-called national anthem before all major sporting events?. It's a fucking war song. What other country in the world has a fucking battle song as their national anthem? Ours should be America The Beautiful. I was shocked to hear it being sung at this years US Open tennis event in NY. So there is a glimmer of hope
