i would follow Jiminy Crickets teachings over the teachings of the bible, at least he just wishes for stuff instead of praying that it will just somehow happen. and after he wished he had to act to get what he wanted. im so sick of people that want a new job or cant make a payment on something that say "just pray that it will get better" "pray that i can find a new job" its all bullshit. but then again, if thats what it takes to give yourself the confidence you need to live life, then thats your cup of tea, just keep that fuckin poison away from me.

now i supose any self proclaimed christian would say that satan is bad, and this thread proves it, i bet none of the christians in here know that the biblical satan is an allegory that represents a Crisis of Faith, Individualism, Free Will, Wisdome and Enlightenment. of course those would all be the worse things someone in the higherachy of the kingdom of god would represent, bad enough to cast him out of heaven, strip him of his angelic wings and damn him to tend for the souls of hell forever... seems really christian to me... oh wait it is...

Doesn't matter what God... Just wondering the % of people who believe there is a God and those who believe everything is based solely on science with no 1 creator.
God in a monotheistic sense ?

I was thinking, on a venue such as this, couldn't we just get by with our individual personalities ?

Why does it matter how we worship, or where our Spiritual Path goes ?

To me it appears that most of us are here for a common reason.

And what a lofty reason it is.

While I do not believe we are here for a common reason, or for that matter any reason whatsoever, I do agree with most of your post.

Why can't we simply exist without all the religion stuff? Simply put, they won't let us. Christianity and Muslim are two very large religions with millions of followers. So what one might ask? The problem is both are based on being a CULT. meaning that it is imperative for you to believe them. They are absolutely no different from jehovas...it's all about recruitment.
This is one of the reasons why I am especially tolerant of Buddhists or Jews. Neither religion needs your faith. Don't want to be a jew or a buddhist? They have absolutely no problem with that. Don't want to follow Christianity or be a Muslim? Those folks have a HUGE problem with that.

Ever have a Jew try to convince you to join? uhhh, no. They get ++rep's, so do the buddhists.

Christianity and Islam are cult religions.

nope
i believe religion(s) created god(s) as something for everyone to follow, they needed to make everyone civilized, or else we would all be killing each other, fighting for land, blah blah blah
same goes for money, they just needed something people could uniform around so they created currency, now we all work for money to live our lives, it keeps us busy just like the bees collecting there honey in a sense,,,,we just got more developed brains

That is an optimistic view my friend... The church invented jesus to gather power and wealth, just like any empire does. Theirs is a religious empire and they guard their wealth with lies and subtefuge. That and many thousand os folks like pill who don't have a clue to what is going on around them....completely hoodwinked and too proud to admit it. It's easier for them to follow the lie. Path of least resistance, not surprising.

That's because if your mom is up on her scripture she knows that DENIAL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT is not forgiven. It's the only thing you cannot be forgiven for. It's the ultimate catch 22 the church threw in there.

DOUBT=DEATH believe...or else.

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science." (Albert Einstein)

-and-

"A human being is a part of the whole called by us a universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."(Albert Einstein)

Even if you do give up on Religion, don't give up on Spirituality. There is so much more to see than most people are ready are able to.
I agree with your last 2 sentences, but Einstein was not talking about religion. If it was not mysterious it would not be science. We do not do science to justify what we think we already understand, we do science to find answers to that with which we find mystery. And most art is mysterious to me, cuz I do not get it!

Alternately; you can be a complete asshole all week long, then go to church for 45 minutes on Sunday ... and all will be forgiven.
.
I am pretty sure this is the official motto.

The bible produces many types of different translations inside of every congregation...man has become the head of each spin-off of the book.

The truth of the matter is that God made his Spirit the head of the book as a husband over the wife.
Well I was holding out hope that your affliction was temporary, but alas, it was not so...your are still cuckoo.

Oh, shit. Another Jehovah's Witness. Man is to understand and approach God through the bible and the Kingdom Hall. Woman is suppose to understand/approach God through her husband. The man makes all the decisions and the woman is to defer to her husband in every way. Only men should be speaking in church and giving sermons. A woman is treated basically like a child, she is allowed to do only what the husband gives her permission to do. She even cooks and raises the children the way that the man tells her to do so.

Don't get me wrong, wouldn't be too bad having a slave / servant. Hell, you can even beat your wife and she is obligated to stick around in a bad marriage in her 'service to God'. But having an equal partner is just too fuggin scary for someone like yourself i would imagine. You need to try to have some small bit of control over the scary little world that you live in.
.
OK this explains it, maybe it is not his fault. He spent his youth being electrocuted at stoneys church...maybe a touch of Stockholm syndrome?

Its the natural mind...do you know its also called the devil?
Dude everything is the devil to religious freaks. Faith and Satan are the only two options on the test. Had to make it easy for the weak minded. Cuz for real if you believe any of the shit in the bible as literal or real....WOW!

"I know it seems hard to believe, but I have faith, and any doubt is just satan talking" said the nice friendly christian. (wow spell check even wants me to capitalize satan..how deep does this conspiracy run?)

Well a common enough reason. Not common in a bad sense. Here together on a Forum about Cannabis. Not so much as a religion, but to me, more of a far ranging culture.

I tread lightly upon the Spirit World and all other aspects of The Great Mystery, along with being respectful enough not to even to ask such a question, knowing how many different Spiritual Beliefs are held by all here.

Perhaps there was no good reason for me to even get involved with all of this, when we could just be ourselves for awhile.

I do believe in Dwarves and Windigos

Its the mind that is in you that causes you to become deceased...the devil is in control of death.

Your existence as a person is gone...because you reject God for the devil.

As for my source on things...its from My heavenly Father
