Do un-pollinated seeds grow?

I tried looking this up online, but couldn’t find an answer.

I grew 4 (feminized) auto flowers successfully (at least for a newby) and they had decent yields, seemed pretty healthy throughout, and produced really good end product. I’m 99% sure there weren’t any hermits and so nothing should have been pollinated, but while trimming I found a few seeds, about 10 in the LSD strain and a couple in the Jack Herer. I also hadn’t been around any male plants.

Will these un-pollinated seeds grow plants or should I toss them?

They did get pollinated or u wouldn't have seeds

You have seeds because your plant was pollinated, unfortunately. Probably missed a nanner during flower. They may or may not be viable, depends if they had time to ripen. There's some debate whether hermie seeds are worth growing, most probably wouldn't bother.

Manners can hide really well. SOmetimes only inside flowers.

But I believe a majority source of our (femized seeds) happens with by crossing females plants with pollen from hermaphridtes from females. Even though its pollen I think the genetic material is still female. xy x xy will always equal xy. Maybe I'm wrong on this. Not my area really


I do know seeda from herm will always carry the herm trait.

It's not actually herm pollen. It's a process of blocking the hormones causing the female plants to produce male pollen sacs. There is no genetic change or herm happening.

It just seems weird to me that I only got a few seeds on two of the plants, but nothing on the others. I’m already about 2months into my current grow. Will these likely have a few seeds as well from leftover pollen? I’m guessing I should do a thorough cleaning before starting my next batch?

I'm not an expert by any means. But have had my share of hermed and accidentally pollinated flowers. The true herms are always female for me. Pollinated is a mix. I belive all plants carry the trait. But some are more easily triggered than others. Just had my 7th Nirvana Northern lights plant finish. It selfed on a few buds. Not a single cracklin "immature seed" from first 6. So it carries the trait.

And if the seeds are mature? More than likely viable. I got bonus beans this run.

Are you referencing my plants specifically or just the process of creating feminized seeds?

It's always a good idea to clean. I chuck pollen around a few times a year and I'm rather careless and kind of don't care if I cross pollinate something by mistake. For the most part it's pretty rare for me to find a seed in a plant that I didn't intentionally pollinate. So unless you had a lot of pollen floating around, and it doesn't sound like you did, I think you should be pretty safe.

I have yet to get a male from a true herm. In my grows the answer would be yes.

I would think so. Especially if indoors. If there was no male chromosome it's not possible for it to be male.
