Do trichomes always go amber?

Just curious as to whether trichomes will always go amber? I'm growing 2 strains and 1 is starting to go amber as expected (63day-70day strain) but the other is pretty much completely cloudy no amber except the odd 1 or 2 on a leaf, none actually on the buds (56-63day strain) the breeder said it will fire out sterile nanners near harvest and that's what it's doing. So wondering if it is actually ready because i do see nanners now but confused as i see no amber. Any help would be hugely appreciated. I'm at day 57 today. Strains are Bruce Banner (amber) and Mac × gorilla glue (no amber)

What do you check for to know when ready?
Post a few pictures here for people to comment. Different plants even from the same seed group can age at different rates - especially autos. I wouldn’t expect any strain to be ready in 70 days. You gotta read the plant and not the packaging once they’re in the medium.

Look for all pistils to turn brown and begin to recede into the flower. Look for the calyxes to swell.

Yes if you wait long enough they always turn amber and degrade even more from there. No need to look at trichomes to judge ripeness just wait until all of the pistils turn orange AND sort of recede back into the bud. If they are still all stringy it’s not ready yet.
You can even go by density at this point; looking for “styrofoam” hardness. If you simply wait 70 days from when pistils emerge most strains will be ripened by then.
A picture of the plant would help…

pictures would help. You were dialed in last time I saw your room.
The more purple looking stuff is mac glue and the greener ones are bruce banner

The glue is throwing out sterile nanners and foxtailing which is what the breeder said would happen around harvest. All nugs are tight and dense af

Some strains I've grown like black cream auto didn't amber I had purple trichomes! But most will get amber I would wait for 10% to 25% amber and for the hairs to all change color and die back and for the buds to stop swelling. Please be patient and harvest when there ready you'll thank me later. Also breeder flowering time are never really accurate.

Yeah I get that but these do look ready and are doing everything the breeder said it would do at around harvest. The other strain is at 10-15% already and if I waited I'd probably ruin that unfortunately. Theyre atleast all cloudy so should still be a decent smoke

one of the pictures that i looked at I saw most of the hairs died back is that the one that 10% or more amber? If so she is ready but not the others in my opinion.
