the pistils will shrivel up and turn amber when the plant is ready/harvested and dried and will be part of your buds and smoke.
(harvest according to the colour of the thricomes).

I'm sure they do, but I believe you are asking cause your plant just started flowering and you're getting ancy. Wait it out, it will be well worth it.
